  1. My guesses would be, that the emails themselves are almost certainly genuine...But also, that people whose fanaticism is at such a level that they use illegal means of getting information, are hardly likely to baulk at the idea of further tampering with it, if it'll help them in their crusade?
  2. My apologies LS...I wasn't making any criticisms at all about your post...Indeed, I often use the American 'skeptic' myself. I've a feeling it was my words that were the clumsier? I guess that that'll teach me not to 'attempt' cleverness in my one-liners, after too-much red wine.
  3. In other words, John, it was load of cack!
  4. Cloudy and wet with a moderate south wind, 11C. So, at least it's mild!
  5. Cloudy and breezy with light rain, 9C...
  6. Now under cloud-shield, moderate SSW wind and 7C...
  7. And, six inches of fast-flowing water can knock you off your feet and drown you!
  8. I still recall one of Ring's 2006 prognostications...Even though (on looking-out of my own window) there was not a cloud in the sky, Mr R informed me that (due to some ridiculous lunar something) it was, in actual fact, raining... So, as with all these pseudo-scientific claims for clairvoyance, I remain 100% sceptical...Which probably means that (unlike AGW sceptics) I have a closed mind?? PS: And, neither will I forget his sock-puppet - the one with the 'big fists'...Although, luckily for me, his arms are a tad less than 17,000 miles long!
  9. I don't really know what to make of the cold pool adjacent to Newfoundland...But, on balance, I tend to think that its effects will be somewhat limited, when compared to those of the state of the ENSO; the Pacific Ocean does (afterall) account for around a third of the Earth's surface?? That said, I am feeling very snow-starved just now!
  10. Dry, sunny and breezy, 5Cish...Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that the mountain-snow I reported earlier was, in actual fact, cloud illuminated by twilight!!
  11. Nice pics...Did you catch them from your flashforward?
  12. Dry and mostly sunny, snow on Ben Wyvis, 3C...
  13. Thanks for that, LS...Well explianed and all. Good luck!
  14. Good luck with it, backtrack...I hope you're right!
  15. His forecast of a rainsoaked super-windy October was as accurate as usual!
  16. Ignoring the homepage (3C with patchy rain!), it's around 9C and sunny, with a moderate SW wind!
  17. For some reason, I don't take 'analogues' very seriously??? Weren't they (in the guise of pattern-matching) the bases of the ill-fated MetO 30-day forecasts of the 1960s, '70s and early '80s?? Maybe JH could clarify???
  18. Cloudy and wet with a fresh WSW wind, about 7C...
