  1. But, I am in t-shirts and shorts, SB...17C is more than enough for me!
  2. Then again - these last three days have been the most comfortable, for ages?
  3. I just hope we all get a thorough soaking before the hot weather returns...
  4. Eh? Are you suggesting that low-flying jets make loud thunder-like noises...As well as produce fake temperature records, Chloe? I always put the loud noises down to the bin-men!
  5. Could just see the eastern edge of the t-storms that were way out west...It's still rather muggy out there!
  6. I wish I'd qualified my statement with 'yet'!
  7. 17.7C please. As I see no reason why the current run of warm months should come to an end...
  8. Well I, for one, am looking forward to the upcoming two weeks: never too hot and never too cold; sometimes coldish uppers, suggesting some reasonable storm chances, given sufficent insolation; reasonable amount of sunshine, so not feeling too chilly; and, of course, some much-needed rain for the gardens... What's not to like? Dons flak jacket! Edit: PS: one or too mini-plumes might also affect the South and East of England?
  9. You are not alone in your dislike, Nick; my 9-year-old grandson can't stand it either...
  10. For me, the weather this past week has been far too hot and humid; but, as I can still recall a time when I'd have thought it was the bees knees, I'm happy for all those still young enough to enjoy it...Old farts, who seem to believe they were born as adults really do peace me of; we were all young once?
  11. It could be that your house, like my flat, has an uncanny ability to retain summer heat? Anywho, I saw one lovely bright, white CG strike today!
  12. With any luck, it'll be as spectacular as the situation that 'developed' in very early January 2014?
  13. But the 'castles in the air' are heading in your direction, BB...Look to your South?
  14. 36C, 97F, sometime in early July, at Southampton, methinks?
  15. IMO, too much emphasis is put on the amount of potential energy contained within the atmosphere, it needs a trigger. On many occasions bugger-all happens but sometimes, and I mean sometimes, all hell breaks loose...like in July 2015 and April 2011? I know it's a shame, but we don't live in Venezuela!
  16. But that's the thing about (even 'organised') storms, isn't it? They seldom if ever affect the whole country at once...Cartwheels in Lincolnshire means self-flagellation everywhere else?
  17. Has there ever been a 5-day spell of 30C+ days that wasn't part of a hot summer? If there has, then I' don't remember it!
  18. Try going to NW's homepage; you can input your nearest major town/city, if not the one you live in?
