  1. Up to 24C here the now...and a good chance a few humdingers, early tomorrow...So perhaps, with a capital P, BlazerBlue and I might see some fireworks? Here's hoping! I nearly forgot...the Beeb are forecasting still quite warm weather, for Friday and the weekend: 26, 23 and 24C...So hardly particularly cool!
  2. Only 16C over here, mucker. Thank fook for that!
  3. Eh, CC? What does that sentence mean, exactly?
  4. Of course it's possible, cheese: I was in the NW Highlands and got nothing, when the bulk of England was knee-deep in snaw (February 1991)...Would I have liked a white-out too? Of course I bloody would! But, watching the TV coverage of a SE England blizzard was also pleasing... As far as the weather goes, we are most certainly all in this together!
  5. So the NW radar can now pick up airborne cigarette lighters? Anaprop?
  6. It must be a trait of us Brits, EES?? I remember spending an entire day, in 80 degree temps on a beach (it might have been Brighton?) and I still cannae remember how many portions of fish & chips I got through!
  7. But now - thank goodness for small mercies - the sea-breeze has swiped 2C of the temp. Down to a 'frigid' 28...Alleluia!
  8. That's the 30C barrier breached, for the first time this year...
  9. Not sure, shuggs - but every 1C increase in water temperature requires roughly four times as much heat as a 1C warming of air...So, it might be?
  10. Nope, shuggs - none whatsoever...Higher than average SSTs?
  11. There does seem to be a lot of hot air, in a large swathe, away to our SE, S and SW; this, to my untrained eye, looks very different to what gave us those very intense but also very brief plumes during the last two summers? IMO, the potential for a very warm next three months indeed, looks to be a distinct possibility? Right then, that's blown it!
  12. 28 now...I guess the wind vectors have added up to a southerly?
  13. I expect it'll reverse, as the clouds (what's left of them) are still going from west to east?
  14. With only one down side: as I'm on the top floor and the sea-breeze dissipates all the clouds, tonight's going to be ultra-uncomfortable...
