Another absolutely appalling day here .14 degrees and drenching rain with gales .Im off to watch a football match in croke park and its standing in the hill.. I honestly have to wear full winter regalia..
7.9mm last hour 13 degrees ,truly a mostly abysmal mid summer day the poor tourists around here are all huddled in the pubs and looking for fires..Its not even Ocotber weather but more like November..
I agree and reminiscing really do remember wonderful winter days with the pouring water from buckets on the slope of the church across from our house and dozens of high spirited teenagers and allsorts sliding down the wonder of our instantly rapid freezing slope bringing exceptional joy and happiness which was normal for me in the 1979 to 1987 period as a boy to a youth ..Those days are long gone for now..
I am a landscaper and from an early age chose to work outdoors . When hot and sunny weather is on tap it is the most gratifying.. I thrive on heat.. There is a Quietness on the streets.Hot sunny days are rare for me so the last 3 weeks have been heaven and when you have to have the sweat towel out it is good times being out in type of weather our continental neighbour's mostly used too. I love all seasons and every weather type and although we might have a boring climate we can love the extremes and at least for my occupation! Can work all year round and have bonus days off when we lucky ..(snow ..wind ..rain ..red orange warning..love it..
Fascinating week watching Springwatch on BBC in the Purbeck looks absolutely amazing and can now see your micro climate in real time and lots of fishing areas..Enjoy..
And 15hrs of sunhine everyday l\st week and through our bank holiday..It must go down as our best in history..Im going swimming now and really feel for you guys under that DREAD..
I was there in 2007 in July and it was calm with heatwave warning for most of greece and temperatures were 39 degrees on the island our volcanoe trip was almost cancelled and our flight home was delayed until midnight as they said the runway was too hot.. Or Ryan air possibly made that up..It was some heat though even the hotel pool didnt give relief..I think Athens recorded 46 degrees that week and it was during the tewksbury floods in this part of the world
