  1. Thanks MIA for the in depth reply, if you look at all model temp charts going forward then Scandinavia does get a lot milder than it is now and some have them in positive temps for a time but as you say if we get it cold in UK from a northerly it normally means a southerly flow into the Arctic somewhere else . Cheers John
  2. Ps.... just seen the ECM 850 temps , my I have seen lower up here in the middle of Summer !!
  3. Hi Mate, thanks for the reply , yes as you say in my 63 years I have never seen a winter that lasted the the full 12 weeks , point was 2 weeks isn't a blip and our ski resorts haven't evened opened yet , they will fee.it more than most as any snow they will soon dissappear Cheers John
  4. The point I was making is 2 weeks isn't a blip in a 12 week winter term that's all Cheers John
  5. From now to Xmas is over two weeks of winter which is a sixth of winter so would hardly call it blip hopefully something better on the cards after that
  6. Day 9 today not as good as the day 10 yesterday was expecting it further north
  7. Agree with you on that point , it's not the same as low 850 temps and real cold at sea level , will be a disaster for the Ski resorts up here at start of the season, could end up losing a month but as a lot of posters say it can all change so fingers crossed
  8. Sad to say to turn a lot milder so most of the snow will dissappear, not good for the Ski resorts at all
  9. Fingers crossed it lands favourably or we could lose rest of month for something more seasonable
  10. Not looking good as you say back over mainland Europe, hopefully just a blip
  11. Hi I am actually in Central Scotland at 428 ft and sleet at best forecast , hoping this is wrong but met office forecasts for my area have been good regarding will it snow or not Cheers John
  12. Hi Dennis . Won't stick unless you have any height, would be good to see a few flakes though
