January Snowstorm

Did anyone consider the possibility that the current relentless rainfall could be manmade There was a program recently that showed how certain powerful countries could have the ability to control hurricanes by a thing called seeding which helps low pressure systems to develop and steer hurricanes away from shore. This practice was seemingly abandoned a few years back because of the fears of trying to control mother nature. Was it abandoned though? Anything is possible guys and mother nature normally balances the weather out....................unless of course

It looks a lot brighter here aswell than normal Looks kinda closer than normal which I know doesn't make sense but thats how it looks

Not too many Irish faces on here at the moment. It isn't surprising when you consider the let down yesterday. It looks mild now for a week at least and most likely longer Enjoy your snow UK

Well I didn't even see a flake. It was a big letdown in Ireland esp for Dublin who were poised for a lot last night

I am not speaking with regard to my location oon.I am speaking about the whole island of Ireland and believe me Northern Ireland has always done far better than most of UK. I am really happy for all those who got snow and am just simply trying to state that much milder air has enveloped all of Ireland.This in my view is very relevent as it shows that the battle line is being moved more and more east just as the models are showing.Most of Ireland is close on 8C today and my point is that this air is likely to win out at the weekend. Maybe I'll be wrong I hope so.

Far too many ifs and buts. The atlantic is guaranteed to win through as it has done already over Ireland. Great news for all who got snow but for Ireland even the highest hills got rain last night There is no battle just the atlantic winning and next week looking mild.Where are we then??? The end of February and start of Spring(I object to saying end of Winter because what we got this year doesn't define a winter)

Did the gfs ever really show ssnow though? We were always above the 528dam and the temp were always above -5 I think it's the pros called this wrong bigtime. It's a disgrace really one which I've seen many times before

Your ignoring the fact Kold that temps are rocketing over Ireland. This air is on its way to you. I doubt if anywhere will see snow

Met Eireann have just admitted they got it wrong on radio. Only rain for all of Ireland and already clearing in Cork A major major cock up for the Irish met. They were forecasting 6-10cms nationwide. All I can do is laugh

Well the news from Ireland is poor with most areas from what I know reporting rain or sleet at best. This amazes me as the Irish Met were forecasting serious amounts of snow away from the South coast. Major red faces in the morning I would think. It is currently 7 C here and ye guys in Uk should bear the setup over here in mind. Maybe it aint going to be an event at all

I think the onshore wind is the main problem here too. Dublin has a better chance though surely
