You'd wonder sometimes do we overanalyse weather a bit.I mean Rita turned out to be nothing extrordinary,though still obviously quite dangerous. I mean it's the same on here when Winter comes and we always up the ante and the speculation yet it rarely turns out anything extraordinary! I know it's the half the fun and I'm as guilty as anybody I guess :lol: By the way the synoptics in our own Country have definatly taken a backward step as the atlantic type weather kicks back in.Our best hope of a cold winter was blocking,in my view,and the next month will tell a lot on how the Winter will unfold

Remember as well guys that it's still dark overthere so reports of storm damage wont be known for a few hours yet! If I'm not mistaken the devastation that Katrina caused wasn't realised for a day or so Let's be thankful if there is no damage

It was always going to be the rain that was biggest danger! The fact that the storm is moving North means trouble for NewOrleans

I reckon it's time they moved the army in and got everyone out of it's path whether they want to go or not! If this were to hit New Orleans it would be the end of that fine City

I remember I watched the day after tomorrow with my girlfriend and I found it awesome because I knew that maybe just maybe the weather could get real nasty some time soon.She thought it was pure fiction,which of course it was though all us weatherbuffs also know that weather is a strange phenomenon! George W you have been warned!! Take globalwarming seriously or we all in trouble

It amazes me how this argument is losing its bite.The bbc forecast has become a joke and is actually so bad that it makes itv's woeful forecast semi-bearable! The wind arrows?? Enough said about them! You see guys its the beeb have called the shots on this one and whats unfortunate is that the Senior Met people have rowed in behind the beeb for a peaceful life instead of getting off their you know what and showing their dissaproval.Any person with half an interest in weather would realise that this is a major step backwards! Its upto the likes of us on here (weather fans) and the like to stand up and be counted and continue to voice our dissapproval.Isnt it amazing how ex retired Met people complain yet the current staff behave like sheep and just follow what the beeb decidesPeople should stand up and fight for what they believe in!The new graphics are rubbish but they'll be here to stay because unfortunatly people accept sub-standards!

Hi All.Just wanted to come out of my Summer hibernation to also add my disapproval to the new graphics.They are absolutely appalling and the outlook has been reduced to 4 Cities or something! If its not broke why change it!! The beeb are going backwards very fast!
