  1. It's almost like they just take the raw output from the model they are given in the long range forecasts. When using the MetOffice data they would often give a variety of options and take their hunch on what was the most likely. To keep things on topic however I can finally report a cm or two in most spots of snow cover. Mind you I have seen some impressive icicles.
  2. Indeed it really has been a let-down for our parts so far compared to what was forecast. Not even a cm.....
  3. Nothing here in South West London, and I honestly don't think after two days that we will get a decent covering. A shame but so it is.
  4. Frosty? On another note slightly more snow falling but not settling very well.
  5. Some light snowfall, can't help but say that this spell has been dissapointing for my parts so far, currently at a spariodic 2mms at best eather than 1-2cm. But there is still some time for that to change!
  6. Very much happening here in SW London, can see the stars very clearly and the system struggling to make inroads.
  7. Looking much better for my parts now, was worried looking at some of the models earlier but a system with this extent could end up with lots of areas on the higher end of the forecasted snow levels.
  8. It's difficult to say. I'm thinking 2cm's at least for my bit of London at best if any. It all depends on how far west the showers get.
  9. Pretty disappointing here in Teddington compared to the event two weeks ago. No snow settling at all, just a cold brisk wind with flakes floating about all day.
  10. Interestingly enough I can hear some growling in the sky despite there being nothing on the radar!
  11. Don't post here often but I have to agree, this spring has been like a better 2018 (which was rather good) so far, watching the models with great anticipation.....
  12. More Strikes showing behind the next storm. It's going to be a long night...
  13. First time I have ever had to do this at home, unplugging PC. Seriously concerned about this storm.
  14. Since I have been sort of interested in weather, I have experienced a few of those flash bang nights then back to normal the next day. This one feels different.
  15. The heavy rain last night was quite impressive. A few flashes and rumbles as well in the distance.
  16. With a bit of Shostakovich on the side, just fantastic. Without a doubt better than the offering from the first 'beast', even if that lasted longer. Snow starting to return to the roads.
  17. It seems my area is right in the firing line for some of the more potent showers.
  18. A good 3-5cm's accounting for drifting snow here in Teddington. Never had this much this late in the season.
  19. Drip drip drip started yesterday evening. I do find the sound satisfying, almost like winter moving out of the way for spring. Weather predicting low teens next week, I can dream!
  20. This cold spell has reaffirmed my thoughts. Sounds great at first, snow everywhere, chaos. Until you have to go outside. Especially towards the end where it goes slushy. I am now on the lookout for some warmer temps. Not crazy mid 20's stuff but a good firm 12-17 degrees with single digit lows for sleeping.
  21. If only it could go on like this through the night! Bye bye cold, hello coldish/mildish weather.
  22. Absolutely, a few days is nice, a bit of chaos and disruption, but it is nice just being able to do the usual routine again.
  23. I think this cold spell will be remembered in the South East not for its snow amounts, but simply for its quirkiness.
