  1. I do believe that this winter may well be the best summer we never had !
  2. And down here in Hampshire, we will wake up the next day and say what was all the fuss about
  3. The only drawback with winter in summer is that the in-laws won't get stuck in a snow drift enroute
  4. Just like UK Winters, I see that hairstyles remain unchanged.
  5. I woke up last Week from a dream where a Summer set up was ongoing for three Months in Summer only to realise that I had not actually woken up .
  6. But how am I going to dry my washing. 20 days of no wind and counting. The only storm That is likely to verify this Xmas is the one you find in a tea cup, served by the in laws!
  7. We do. New york had more snow in one day last Year ......3 feet ........than Hampshire has had in the last 40 years combined. That does not include the other snow storms they got that Year.
  8. The nearest we get to a snowball comes in a glass with a slice of lemon
  9. Not just America. many parts of Europe continue to have lots of snow. The UK has its own climate, often the reverse to the other areas . I mentiond earlier the snow that awaited me in Spain when the ferry docked. Two Years ago last Summer IArrived in Caen, France to a heatwave. This lasted 4 Months. 1OO miles north in UK was cool with drizzle most of that Summer
  10. Spain and France are often cold too with Snow whilst we have cool drizzle. I recall the Paris snow storm of five Years ago and uk was mild with drizzle. Three Months later France had heat wave for 4 Months and we were Cool and wet.
  11. Even Spain. I recall travelling to Bilbao on Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth. We arrived in Spain but the cars couldnt get off the ramp due to heavy snow
  12. If the fog lifted it would be like July with sun and warmth down here. After 3 weeks of the same it is getting boring. Not sure I can deal with another two Months of this dross. Yawn.
  13. Don't worry you will get your easterly ...........in March 17, and for 3 Months and more cool drizzle.
  14. Whilst we bask in UkWarmth, the real action is in USA. News report onCNNNews. Unlike here ,when snow is predicted ......it snows
  15. Well, another scorcher here on the Hampshire coast. Heating off for 3 days now. As the shortest day rapidly closes in, my thoughts turn towards Spring. However, concerned that come March, the Easterly will arrive as per normal and hang around for the usual 3 to 4 Months. Unfortunately by then, the rest of the World would have had the lions share of Snow / biter cold, leaving us with cool drizzle and cloud. Is Winter 2016 / 2017 over and is Summer 2017 over too I ask myself ?
  16. Went for a walk on Hampshire coast, people queuing for ice creams at kiosk . A glorious day. This is the setup we needed in June and July just gone. Dare I dream of a extended spring as we move into January!
  17. Solution is to take a short trip to a a snowy country. You can get a rtn flight to Eastern Europe for about £50 now, just an hour or two away.
  18. Looking at thoes colours am I right in concluding that all of Europe and the rest of the northern hemisphere excluding UK and Spain will be wintery.
  19. Amazing down here on the south coast. We rarely get snow even when it is cold, but today i can honestly say that 16c was hotter than some days I have seen in July of some Years. Needless today, central heating is off. My only fear is that the easterly winter will arrive in March for 3 Months like previos Years and that just delievers cool yuky drizzle. Heres to the BBQ and Spring
