Well saying as the British Isles are a rain magnet, expect it to turn due North
-
Yes, the fact that the 68mm was more spread out is probably the reason. I wasn’t saying there was no rain but the rain that fell was just normal Autumnal rain, nothing torrential like those other unfortunate areas.

That map, for my area looks strange because there wasn’t much rain here. Northwest Ireland escaped the worst of this weather but shows up as red, just like Eastern Scotland and Yorkshire/Derbyshire areas that absolutely got battered.

Unusually quiet on here despite the probable scale of this event

Has the term “biblical” been wheeled out yet? We really are in trouble if that happens.

Jet2.com will be flying plane loads of tourists to your area before you know it.

Huge penny sized drops of warm rain just falling now as cells pep up here 1658 - The sky has just gone black here and torrential rain started with lots of rumbling going on. -

Model Output Discussion - Mid Summer Onwards

Well I’ve just booked a second holiday in the one year for the first time in 10 years on the strength of negativity on the forum and in the modelling. The only escape from perma-snot! -

It’s been a mostly pleasant week in this part of the world though the weekend looks bad and next week also. -

This is where I’m at. I don’t like any of the changes. If it’s not broke don’t fix it - seems to be one of the hardest concepts to follow in the modern age.- 109 replies

Don’t have “popular posts” then. It’s not like Facebook here surely? -

I think it’s pointless. The forum is mostly cordial most of the time. I see this option as sowing discord. But that’s just my view, feel free to agree or disagree -

No idea how it’s happened because I’ve banned myself from looking at output, but it’s been a dry sunny day here -

I flew back from Portugal yesterday and the dividing line and front you describe was very obvious from the air. It was completely clear up until around Porto and then shortly after the grey /white wall lasted all the way through the Bay of Biscay before entering our UK trough characterised by tall skyscraper nimbus clouds and instability. Nice pics of Porto flying over and Dragon River -

I get that. It’s just that in a country with our climate I’d pick the predictable UK high over the unpredictable plume 10 times out of 10. -

Yes I agree, the obsession with plumes and record breaking temperatures is weird. Give me a good old UK High that hangs around for a week or two with temperatures in mid high twenties. What’s not too like? Plumes are like gambling away what you can’t afford. You may get get a bit lucky but then the whole thing falls to pieces.
