Wow the snow gods have spoken, so that means guaranteed Snow righyt!? Nahhh!!! Unfortunetely there'll be plenty of places in this zone that don't get lucky
I personally feel the milder air flanking this front could make for a swift change-over from snow to rain but we'll see... I suppose a covering of snow that lasts for half a day is better than no snow right?!
On the wider conversation - I'm actually quite glad we've lost the nagging marginal flow coming off the North Sea now - it failed to deliver for most South of Lincolnshire. I actually believe a marginal cold North Westerly or even Westerly may be better for us guys, anything that doesn't come straight off the North Sea!! Obviously this changes if the uppers are cold enough, but if they aren't then it's just heartache all round.
Half a day would be a good result, I think a few hours at best.

Guess it'll be a set the alarm early sort of day if you want to enjoy any snow before it turns into slush a few hours later.

Today's warning has been extended south into the Midlands but doesn't include any of our region.
Saturday's warning still unchanged.
Seems reasonable and in line with the charts.

Another wet and miserable morning, Spring couldn't arrive any sooner, today looks another dud IMBY (albeit nothing was ever really forecasted other than rain)
Still looks like some in the Northern and North Eastern parts of our region will see something wintery during the afternoon transition, not sure if it's worth getting exciting about though.
-
Wonder if those warnings will be extended further South this evening
-
Tomorrow starting to look a bit better for more parts of our region, I'm guessing the further North and East of the region you are the better it'll be in terms of transition.

Nice charts but can't see them coming off, most likely a rain event for majority of us.
-
Very foggy and down to -2.3c already, going to be a cold one!

Slight covering of snow on the car but ultimately just wet, grey and cold again - any sign of some warm and sunny weather on the way?
-
Thoroughly miserable morning, hopefully we can avoid that cold rain IMBY.
Temperatures and DP's far too high for anything other than rain at the moment.
-
If you're not on the coast or far south of our region I wouldn't bother staying up for this one.
Temperatures starting to drop away, down to 1.9c, another frosty night ahead!
-
Another cold frosty morning, lows of -1.9c. I much rather it was warmer than grey and cold, utterly miserable. If we're going to get cold weather it should either snow or be sunny.
Todays low looks now confirmed to miss majority of us, maybe a dusting towards the coasts. Currently looks on track from the radar images too so won't be any last minute surprises.
-
At least we know now that tomorrow is a bust rather than as it's happening, no need to stay up and watch the charts/lampposts, hopefully some more luck with the next event/s
-
Still looking good for those south of our region tomorrow evening (away from the coasts) - should be an exciting evening for some!
-
I'd certainly be quite excited if your south of our region, might not extend much more northwards than South London but there will be some happy folks in here tomorrow evening/Thursday morning. Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Quite a wide area covered with that warning due to the uncertainty. Doesn't look like too much to get excited about unless you're on higher ground or favoured location.
-
Temperatures starting to fall away, down to 4.2 c.
Glad we have the regional thread, the model thread can be very passive aggressive at times!

Morning all
Looks set to get colder in the coming days and perhaps those over higher grounds will see some settling snow on Friday. Looks unlikely for the majority of us elsewhere but it's a good start.

Thunder and lightening again in West London, wasn't really expecting this. Thoroughly miserable weather and wouldn't be surprised to see some localised flooding in parts around here.

Incredible storm! Lightning every few seconds for the last 20 minutes. Certainly going to be some localised flooding near by

-
Now that's a proper storm, constant flashes of lightning every few seconds and heavy rain!

So i can hear some distant rumbling, although i have a feeling its going to skirt south and west of Harrow (especially as i just covered the table). @Uxbridge90 hopefully look good for you further west of me!
Radar is looking promising, think Harrow should see something too!

Those storms in the SE are probably going to hit the same areas that got hammered yesterday, W London.. possibly more S London too. Ugh..
Meanwhile 27°C and blue sky overhead all day in N London. Zero convective activity throughout the heatwave.
I'm probably not reading the charts correctly but it does seem like there could be a chance that they start to move a bit more northwards over London in the next few hours.

I see the amber warning runs from 5am through to 2pm, I guess that'll be a good estimation as to when the rain will kick in and thaw out any snow?
None the less, looking forward to a few hours of decent snow before it turns to heavy rain.
I see BBC are going for 8/9c in the afternoon, a day or two halves!
