People shouldn’t get hooked up with the placement of potential snow how ever hard that may be as we really are talking about 50 miles here and there which is nothing in the grand scheme of things .
unfortunately how much we want certainty from the NWP it’s really is a now cast situation and radar on the day .
Absolutely, we'll have a better idea on Saturday morning with the radar positioning.

The charts just keep on giving don't they? Looking incredibly exciting for our part of the world. I think knowing that even if there's some hiccups on the way there's a few more opportunities after.

It's certainly going to be cold next week and those to the East of the region could see some pretty impressive snow accumulations!
Hoping we have similar totals (6cm) as the other weekend in West London, the perfect amount that doesn't cause too much disruption and it only lasts a few days, anymore than that and it just becomes a pain in the backside.
Let's hope for no further shifts in terms of Saturday evening/Sunday morning!

Superbowl whilst it's snowing?

Looking great for Eastern parts of our region, should be a fair few who didn't see any snow a couple weekends ago who will this time round.

Looks naff for our region unfortunately, still time for improvements but it's going to take an almighty shift.
-
Think I'm the only one looking forward to some double digit temperatures over the next few days!
Weekend onwards looks interesting for some colder weather and perhaps some snow at some point - probably won't become clearer until later this week (although that won't stop some issuing guarantees of one scenario over the other on the module output discussion)

Looks like the ECM did quite well in the end.
Lows of -3.9c overnight and a very icy start to the day. Thaw should set in this afternoon and be completely done by tomorrow when the rain arrives.

Well, fandabidozie, that's FIVE HOURS' in and still the NW app's snowfest has failed to materialise.
Don't use the automated apps

I’ve been watching the radar and it does seem to be moving back towards N London over the last hour or so...?
That's exactly what's happening, it should start moving S/SE throughout the evening, perhaps places like Luton and Milton Keynes could be in for a surprise considering the intensity.

It's definitely on the move south.. Strange Amber from the met.. The places init like Nottingham are seeing the PPN die out but the warning runs for another 3 hrs..
You can see the northern edge slowly sinking south now.. Fingers crossed
You'd think if there was to be an Amber warning it'd be a bit further south that Nottingham

Be interesting to see how much is left as it pushes back SE, could be a cm or 2 in it for places North of London.
Hope everyone enjoyed the snow and got away from the radar for a few hours!

4 cm in the end, a slight thaw setting in but should be able to hold on to most of the snow until it gets colder again. Not sure how much will be left when it swings back round and heads South East.
Ultimately I should be content with what we got considering others haven't got any snow but compared to what we used to get growing up it's not much.
Time for another snowy stroll down the canal!

Starting to swing now, some of those in the Midlands are going to get an absolute pasting from this.
Thin layer of snow in West London, nothing special but nice to see.
-
Despite being under some blue/green on the NW radar there's nothing falling at the moment.

Do you still think we are going to do well from this. The frost is thick here on the roofs in Walthamstow everywhere but it's clouding over now. Oh I hope we get whiteout conditions here. What's your punt
An hour or two perhaps, hopefully a dusting for most!
-
Does look to be losing intensity but as expected.
-
A low of -4.3c overnight.
Looking great for those where it stalls/pivots.
Automated forecasts makes me laugh.
-
Euro4 also takes it further North. Hopefully those the furthest North of our region do well. Expecting a dusting IMBY but nothing too get excited about.
-
At this point I wouldn't bother with the automated forecasts on BBC and Met Office, it will be a matter of watching the radar tomorrow morning and seeing if there's any shifts on the charts today. From a IMBY perspective it looks quite exciting but for the wider region it does look like those that haven't seen any snow may see some.

Tomorrow looks interesting, charts showing slightly different outcomes but it seems some snow starved folk in our region will see some action tomorrow.
Classic radar watching will be needed!

You know somethings brewing when people are arguing about the weather
Looking great for many in our region, regardless of snow it's going to be a very cold week!
5cm and I'll be happy IMBY, which doesn't look in danger atm.
