Looking good for parts of E/SE London!

Some cracking pictures!
Down to -0.6 c and feeling raw in that wind!
Had a few grains a short while ago but nothing special, looking forward to what the next few days may bring.

Streamer activity kicking in, looks pretty weak at the moment but could bring some activity to those that haven’t seen any today?
Awesome pics and videos today from those that received some accumulations.
-
Which streamers effect which area/s? I found an old post by Tom but it looks like the images may have expired.

Some brilliant pictures!
That wind is starting to feel bitter and we haven't gone above 1.9 c since this morning.
Looking good on the radar over in S/SE London?
-
Doesn't even feel particularly cold out and very little wind, looks like that's the Westerly extent for now.

Blowing snow in Uxbridge starting to get heavier
Here's hoping the small Uxbridge gang on here can see something a bit more intense throughout the day!

Surprisingly not feeling too cold at the moment, temps down to 1.1c
Glad to see those that haven't seen any snow for a while finally getting in on the action.
Here's hoping some Westerly movement and streamer activity later, think us folk in West London aren't too far from seeing something decent later.
Ultimately it looks like the charts did quite well so far?

Looks dark pink on radar?
I'm talking about the radar returns moving West over London.
-
I see it's very slow expanding slightly westwards but the intensity looks extremely weak.
-
I wouldn't worry too much about the chopping and changing on the charts at this point, it's almost radar time. Anywhere NE/E of London looks like good fun tonight/tomorrow!

Still seems to be some inconsistencies on how far West the line of snow will be tonight/tomorrow. Some have it as far West as Oxford/Reading whilst others have it as a non event for most outside of EA, Kent etc.
-
Wouldn't pay too much attention to the BBC or the automated forcasts.

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but, much as I really love to see the snow, I cannot say I'm looking forward to this coming event.
Why? Because of the extremely harsh north easterlies that are expected to accompany the snow from the off on midnight Sunday and through most of Monday.
Winds are forecast to gust at up to 40mph inland and over 50mph near coasts. That alone will take a lot of of the fun out of it for me. It's going to be brass monkeys with bells and whistles all the way through.
Fine if that doesn't bother you but it's not really my cup of tea.
Agreed, it's going to be a pretty horrid week for the homeless, a lot of homeless charities have struggled due to covid and can't offer as much as they did in previous winters.

Haha, I wish I had your optimism
Most of the charts still look promising for our area and London in general, sure, it's not as much as some previous charts were showing but we'll still see something. Even with lighter precipitation we could still end up with 6 hours + of light snow.

Metoffice app has Oxford roughly the furthest west for light snow for a good few hours
So anyone east of that looks like getting a covering from Sat late evening
From a IMBY perspective, I think W/NW London could get a decent amount!
-
Still looking exciting for those in the Eastern part of our region. Hard to call west of East London, hopefully todays runs can reassure a few of us!
I just hope we don't end up with bitterly cold winds and miserable gray skies all week.
-
So more importantly, where is the socially distanced SE & EA regional snow fight happening on Sunday then?

You know somethings brewing when people are arguing about the weather
Looking great for many in our region, regardless of snow it's going to be a very cold week!
5cm and I'll be happy IMBY, which doesn't look in danger atm.

People shouldn’t get hooked up with the placement of potential snow how ever hard that may be as we really are talking about 50 miles here and there which is nothing in the grand scheme of things .
unfortunately how much we want certainty from the NWP it’s really is a now cast situation and radar on the day .
Absolutely, we'll have a better idea on Saturday morning with the radar positioning.

The charts just keep on giving don't they? Looking incredibly exciting for our part of the world. I think knowing that even if there's some hiccups on the way there's a few more opportunities after.

Brutal windchill, looks like there may have been a few flakes overnight but not really enough for a dusting.
Ice day ahead?
