Still small patches and large piles of snow here. Very cold and very wet.

1°C with persistent moderate rain here. Grim.

It is pretty rare to get prolonged snow in this country.

Met Office warning for snow just to my north. Mentions snow to low levels, becoming confined to above 150m. Most of this area is above 150m but only seeing rain. What a swiz!

Still a lot of snow but the milder air aloft is really spoiling things. Miserable rain coming down. I really hate mild winter weather. It’s utter dung.

Ah man. Wake up to see a load of rain coming in from the west on the radar and the next low now modelled further north. Winter wonderland won’t last long.

That was a good one but I don’t think it was quite as much as today. Seen so many snowfalls since moving here from the snow desert of London.

Easing off now and just very light stuff left on the radar before it clears. 2nd largest snowfall I’ve seen here at around 9cm. December 2017 narrowly remains number 1 at 10cm,

3.5 inches of level snow on my wheelie bin and it’s chucking it down still.

Makes a change, but I still envy the Lakes. Someone always has it better

This is pretty epic. I have low expectations and to me, being from London, a dusting is a winter wonderland but this is awesome.

Some of the best snowfall I’ve seen in a long time. Only been properly snowing for just over an hour but it’s already really thick on the ground

Radar is actually still lying; It’s showing light snow but it’s hammering it down. The bright radar returns are still some way away. I prefer this lie!

Have actually got the first proper snowfall for hours after hours of radar lies. Might even manage to get up to a full covering at this rate.

Looks like it’s all finally beginning to move eastward so might see a better chance over the next few hours.

Air is very dry due to being so cold so a lot of what’s falling is evaporating before it gets near the ground.
