  1. There is a good build-up of shower activity in the North Sea which is pushing through our region now. Wind has really picked up too.
  2. Thanks to both @moogyboobles and @mpkio2 for the wonderful pictures. My kitten broke my camera on my phone, otherwise I would have tried to get some pics up too. Not as good though I'm sure!
  3. It's been great hasn't it? As far as the next couple of days go, I think that we will still see a fair amount of shower activity coming off the North Sea overnight tonight, but the current track of Storm Emma seems to be going slightly too far West for us to be getting too much ppn from it on Thursday into Friday. The further West you are, the more likely you will see heavier snow, but things can and will change. It is very hard to forecast the track of storms, so it will be a case of nowcasting. Beyond that, the temps look like they will rise from Saturday onwards, so the ppn could easily turn to rain, especially on the Southern edge.
  4. I doubt very much that that is the end of the ppn for today. The North Sea is still being very productive, with a good stream of shower activity (albeit lighter) heading towards NW London. Still more top-up's to come. EDIT: Lovely pictures Moogyboobles!
  5. You look to be in a perfect location right now. I can't see it decaying that quickly, so yes, areas to the West of London should get something.
  6. It certainly is!! Looking excellent for London and was just in the other thread wondering when the MetOffice will upgrade their warnings because London is going to get a pasting.
  7. The MetOffice need to update/upgrade their warnings. London isn't going to get off lightly with this clump.
  8. London is about to get a dumping it seems! I haven't had such pleasure in watching moderate/heavy ppn heading towards me in the knowledge that it WILL fall as snow!! What fun!!
  9. I took a break from radar watching for a bit and couldn't have asked for a better set-up! A big cluster of moderate ppn heading towards London. Yayyy!
  10. Two distinct bands of snow moving in towards our region now, with ppn converging from the SE and NE. London, Essex, Herts and S Suffolk (plus N Kent and Surrey) should get a covering from this, and possibly further West.
  11. The ppn is building really nicely in the Thames Estuary. Two distinct bands moving West, with London looking like it should get a covering, with things improving run by run. Yet another late night!
  12. The radar looks better for London with every run. Let's see how far inland this can get. EDIT: Expanding as it moves West... Very nice set-up now!
  13. I can't see that happening tonight. You should get at least a covering. There is a nice blob heading towards you and you have the perfect wind direction to blow ppn through from Maldon. Meanwhile, the ppn that is affecting N Kent is expanding as it moves West and has spread to the North of the Thames by Tilbury.
  14. And here I was hoping to get an early night tonight! It looks so much more promising than for ages tonight. The next few radar runs should indicate whether the Thames will increase convection, but it is looking great so far, with the showers starting to band together to the East.
  15. A form of Thames streamer is imminent I reckon. There is a lot of activity in the Thames Estuary and Essex and S Suffolk coasts, plus stronger echoes from the radar as the ppn moves West through North Kent. Nice!
  16. I can see the London area getting some snowfall out of this. There are some nice strong pulses of ppn appearing in the Thames Estuary and off the coast of Essex now.
