Could that all translate to cold dry nothingness for us in the SE corner from this coming weekends northerly?
I hope for the sake of those on the Model thread that there is widespread snow or there may be suicides I fear ...
I am waiting for the downgrades OR to be told that it will be a 2 day coldish event .... Pessimistic? Maybe but it is what I have been taught to expect from the experiences of past years.
Exactly! Anything past a week is a possibility ... why do people take it as gospel? The warm prediction predicted in the most recent charts is as valid as the freezing charts from 2 days ago!
It has nothing to do with the weather or the models ... it is the "excitable" nature of some people who watch the models!
A slight whiff of something good - meltdown ensues. A possible downgrade - meltdown ensues!
I cannot read the models but I do realise that 7/10 days out are just a calculation of what may happen. People taking it as gospel. How can every run be gospel?
Loads of excitement in the models thread. Having been watching these things for the past few years and get delivered damp coldish squibs ....I am not getting excited but mildly hopeful.
Some comparisons drawn with what happened early winter in 2010. What happened to the rest of winter for the season (winter 2010/11)? My mind is blank.
Thanks.
Put your burning candles right next to your nylon net curtains ...
After many years of mild winters, have to wonder if we will see winter weather like that again...
Is there much correlation between years? The atmosphere is a turbulent thing and a whole multitude of small changes can affect the bigger picture. Bring into that climate change as well!
As humans, we like to bring order to chaos but I am now a big sceptic on possible outcomes based on yesteryear. Always will be a case of look at the models in the very reliable timeframe.
