  1. Haha snap, haven't been since 2018 either, it's costing a fortune this time! 35c with high humidity, only slightly warmer than here now.... There's a good chance we'll be in Florida and there will be a few plumes with severe thunderstorms here, ah well, I would rather be off work in sun. Safe travels and hopefully we can get a few storms when we are over there
  2. There's a station near here on Weatherobs (thanks @dryfie) showing 29c Looks like it'll cool down and get a bit more unsettled for early week which is great for a break, although I'm off to Florida at the end of next week. Was hoping for a lot of storms but they are having a drought...
  3. Went for a better view, haven't seen any lightning but constant rumbling
  4. This is actually a different cell that has just exploded to the west, rumbles of thunder every few seconds. Feels like a different country today
  5. I think we might be about to bust the cap here or find out if not, the sun is back out after the earlier cloud and not much which resulted from the nearby storm. A CB is building quickly to my north west now... Looks accurate to me, Glasgow AP is showing 27c at the moment
  6. Looks like it's all died/pulsed down now with more general rain around. Nothing more than a few spots of rain here so far but I can still see the towers building again through gaps in the cloud, hopefully there'll be some more storms firing nearby soon. Nice to hear the loud rumbles of thunder rolling over the hills though!
  7. Nice one, it's rumbling away every 10 seconds or so, expanding to the north along the M77 but I think it will miss here again. Some others about more south east so not sure if I'm hearing them as well
  8. 26c, clear blue sky with strong convection to the east. Some good looking storms heading north /north west from Ayrshire
  9. Similar here, we got a few spots of rain earlier but the showers missed to the east. All of the haze and high cloud has however cleared now and we have scorching sunshine (for Glasgow) coming in the west facing windows.
  10. It's the first wet morning in at least 3 weeks here, I want the sunshine back although the rain is welcome Didn't get much in the way of storms last night, a distant flash of lightning and 1 rumble of thunder about 10. Then I think I saw some more flashes about 4am through the gap in the curtains but didn't bother getting up
  11. I can see distant lightning to the south now Friends and family reporting thunder and lightning across East Ayrshire.
  12. This doesn't look good Wildfire takes hold near caravan park at Daviot in Highlands WWW.BBC.CO.UK Fire crews are tackling a blaze at Daviot, south of Inverness, on the hottest day of the year. Netweather radar. The showers have all gone north of the Central Belt now, apart from a new storm moving into the castle Douglas area.
  13. Yeah I'm in Kilmarnock, that storm started forming to our south East, died off as it passed over us and then intensified. It now looks like a pretty strong storm over Kilbirnie way
  14. That storm over Sanquhar is heading Glasgow direction, I'm not in so it's guaranteed
  15. Toastie! It's warm here but with a slight breeze. Need to get a weather station... But I would estimate mid 20's at least, it was 20c by 10am! Some Acas beginning to move in now showing some instability. Great post about the storms @Kirkcaldy WeatherWeather. Noticed there is a heavy shower forming down near @SW Saltire already!
  16. Another very warm day with temps into the low to mid 20s. Just noticed that there might be a new grassland fire somewhere to the east I as I can see a huge plume of smoke rising into the air. Can't see any mention of anything on the news yet though.
  17. I went for a walk at lunchtime and could see the low cloud to the north and East of Glasgow. Nice and warm already
  18. Yeah chilly and cloudy morning but nice to open up the windows and let the house cool down before this afternoons heat. The sun has literally just started to come through here so it should warm up quickly
  19. Yep, amazing weather, strong sunshine and temps into the low 20's. Looks like we might even get to 25c midweek but either way a great week ahead. Still 21c here now with drought conditions. We had 1 day of rain 2 weeks ago and I think it might be about 3 weeks before that to the last decent rain here as we missed the showers. Therefore it's very dry here, the large SUDS pond at the front of the estate has now completely dried up and the water pressure has dropped due to my everyone's hosepipes in action!
  20. West is best I guess.... 19/20c just south of Ayr today and I'm sunburnt after being out on the beach most of the day This was one of the few cloudier spells.
