Torrential rain this morning for the school run which is just clearing now. Nice display of mammatus on the back edge with some even rarer blue sky coming through too!!

We had some thunder around 6am this morning but I didn't bother to get up and see what was happening! Dull and damp now...

Looked a tad more like UKV at 3,although an hour out (although I didn't really look at the rest of the country that early!)

UKV wins again, some very strong winds and some ridiculous rain. Photo doesn't do it justice!

Yeah saw that on UKV and torro discussion. Don't think I've got the energy to stay awake to watch even more rain tonight although could be interesting. It'll probs wake me up though

Absolutely hammering it down again, downpours have been training on this area since mid morning- the massive puddle behind the house is the biggest I've seen it since we moved into the house in June. There should really be a yellow weather warning but it won't make any difference now!

Some torential downpours so far today, the main roads were like a river when I went out at lunchtime. In other news, I see the TrafficScotland website has been updated, it looks much better and it'll hopefully be able to cope better during severe weather. They do seem to have dropped the weather stations though unless I'm missing them which is a pain! Ouch, I make those 90-110mph gusts the UKV below? Torrential rain possible in pulses from the early hours tomorrow morning too so I'd expect warnings shortly...

Great Post. I've been keeping an eye on it for the last few days and the UKV has been showing torrential rain on Friday morning for days. Typically it's at school run time so I will be getting drenched with the kids in the morning, should wake us up!

The first strong winds for a long time here which i can hear rattling off the roof, it's also cool, damp and was dark quite early. It's making me turn my thoughts to those nights where we're cosy inside watching the lampposts for the first flakes of snow, not long to go now hopefuly!

We're getting persistent torrential rain here, although we are outside of the warning area surprisingly... Looking at the radar and precip forecasts it feels like we'll be waking up to stories of flooding on top of those from the Perth area earlier!

Just had a rumble of thunder here as the rain clears...

Very heavy rain here but no thunder. All of the thunder and lightning is further east as the band moves north. Meto just issued a thunderstorm warning for East of Glasgow North

UKV showing the potential for some torrential outbreaks of rain in the early hours with temps a tropical (for us) 17c. Further downpours likely over the next few days but the Meto have dropped all mention of storms for here. Also, despite a decent downpour late last night I suspect we had more rain from the band this morning than through the whole time of the weather warning yesterday!

Heard that one too, two storms have formed really quickly around Wishaw. Possibly another one further west which isn't showing on radar yet.

I can see a few flashes out west now, if it wasn't so late I would go for a walk up the hill to see them better! The west Lothian storms look fun, just saw some videos on Facebook with some frequent lightning - haven't seen a good night storm for years. Great capture!
