  1. Yep, the traffic Scotland website is struggling which is a good indication that a lot of people are having problems this morning!
  2. Traffic chaos around many parts of Glasgow and surrounding areas at the moment. Thought the met may have upgraded to Amber when I saw the radar this morning but I guess it wouldn't have made much difference really. Still snowing here but not adding too much to the totals since its wet and heavy and melting as fast as its falling. I hink we have 2-3 inches on the grass but hard to tell from the first floor flat.
  3. Everything is white here with moderate snow falling and the radar looks good for more! I think there's been a decent bit of melt since the heavy showers in the early hours as there's a deeper patch of snow left on the cars of about 2 inches which hasn't slid off. Nice to see winter again, even if it's only for a few hours. Cars are getting stuck on the M77 and there's snow all the way down to sea level in Glasgow and Ardrossan by the looks of the traffic cams.
  4. Very wet snow falling here now with slush on the car windscreens. Won't be staying up so will see what it's like early tomorrow!
  5. Some pretty beefy showers coming in now with hail mixed in which is the first sign that the colder air is beginning to dig in..
  6. Horizontal moderate sleet here, nice... hoping for some snow tonight/tomorrow morning but these set-ups are usually a bit dodgy coming in over a warm atlantic when the air isn't that cold and hidden warm sectors appear at short range!
  7. Still going a bit stronger here with the best snow of the day falling, but we're in the worst part of the front really. It often splits in half when it comes from this direction so doesn't look like it will last that long here but fingers crossed!
  8. Moderate to heavy snow at times blowing in the strong winds. Its nowhere near as wet anymore so suspect we'll get a bit of slush soon, lovely. Edit: grass, cars and pavements turning white
  9. Just rain/sleet here so far - a pretty miserable day! Edit - snow now!
  10. Not unexpected given the trend on snowfall forecasts over the last week (often happens early in the winter) , but the meto snow warning has been downgraded to a 200m+ event with transient snow to lower levels mentioned in the forecast. (although if you're on the southern uplands, amounts upgraded to 20cm possible!)
  11. Yellow snow warning for Tuesday, looks promising at the moment but quite uncertain this far out still! https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?id=d1b10a67-b892-4e03-9b59-4c6679d7bc0e&details&referrer=app&date=2021-12-07
  12. A wintry looking view from the window this morning! Apparently some had melted by this point but nice and seasonal.
  13. An unexpected covering of snow here too! I've moved slightly higher up the hill this winter and it's a good start so far
  14. We've unexpectedly just had out first light snow shower of the season here, nice to see!
  15. We've got thunder overhead here as that band moves in, more than the summer...
  16. Bearsden/Milgnavie way must be bad, looks like they've had torrential rain training on the area for about 90mins so far. I heard a rumble of thunder from that cell earlier, fourth day in a row the North side of Glasgow has had a storm I think? Nearly all lightning is west of the current meto warning (convectiveweather.co.uk looks to have got it right so far!)
  17. A very wet day, the first for a month. Some good cloudscapes today and this is developing and heading this way...
  18. Some distant rumbles of thunder here now. Looks like it's building this way so will see what happens.... Edit : yep getting louder
  19. Yeah similar happened here although missed the worst of the rain. As usual it blows up as soon as it hits the city centre continual loud booms from the Glagsow storm. Nice views looking towards Glasgow but couldn't get a good pic and I'm not heading that way at rush hour! These pics were the developing storm.
  20. Some pictiures of flooding through Greenock way, wouldn't be surprised to see many more like this from today, especially just North Glasgow.
  21. Yep, the one out between Paisley and Greenock is looking pretty strong now - plenty of rumbles here but moving away. There is a line of cells really getting going between greenock all the way across to Livingston really but nothing overhead here.
