  1. Just trying to finish the shed build and a storm fired pretty much over the top of us, core slightly to the east. Rumbles every few seconds which was nice but slowing down a bit now in frequency
  2. Fingers crossed for a storm, plenty out west at the moment! Also hoping @Puffy MacCloud is doing OK and hopefully just has a broken phone or something...!
  3. Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days. Moderate and severe forecast from convective weather and a meto weather warning for the rain into the west. Interesting...
  4. We've just had a slow moving torrential downpour, haven't seen rain that heavy for a while
  5. Yeah, we had a reasonably heavy shower which mostly evaporated as soon as it landed since surfaces are so warm and dry. Bit damp now but much cooler and the radar doesn't look very exciting. The forest/building fires down south look terrible, it doesn't look like the UK!
  6. Yeah that one has just rolled past to the west although thunder has become a lot less frequent. We might catch the end of the precip that's currently over Ayrshire but nothing exciting yet. The whole band should be slowly moving east as well as north so I'm keeping my eye on the showers over the Galloway forest at the moment. Storm warning issued for SE Scotland/ NE England too.
  7. This is to the west /south west. Suspect it'll just miss but fingers crossed...
  8. Scorchio, at least 30c and the gentle breeze from yesterday is missing. Some big downpours moving into the south west now so hoping for a storm soon - albeit unlikely. It would be ironic though as the meto mentioned the possibility of storms on the text updates for the last few days and dropped even the mention of rain on the forecast from overnight! Edit: we have distant thunder rumbling!
  9. Good post, convective weather also going for a risk over the North and East. Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days.
  10. Yep, passing here but all decayijg and nothing reaching the ground.
  11. Showers making it into the west now, could do with a heavy shower for a cool down!
  12. TrafficScotland showing a few 29.9c readings around Edinburgh and Glasgow - presume they are a tad warmer than official stations due to being next to the road without a full Stevenson screen
  13. I use Wind Map - Britain Observations WWW.XCWEATHER.CO.UK Traffic Scotland > Weather Stations TRAFFICSCOTLAND.ORG Netwetther and Weatheronline also have a load of temp data.
  14. Edinburgh AP is already at 27c, Glasgow is showing as 24 but various traffic Scotland weather stations are up to 27.5c near Glasgow city centre. Slightly cooler here at 26c but still a tad warm!
  15. Heavy showers moving through now, at least nature is getting a good drink before the heatwave... Although the grass will be 5ft high by Saturday
  16. The trend continues! Record breaking if that comes off and if it ends up a degree or two higher we're getting close to 100F territory which is obscene!
  17. Glad that you're doing much better @Puffy MacCloud Every time I look at the GFS temperature chart it keeps getting warmer for next week. When I looked a few days ago the max showing was 24c, now it's up to 29/30c and you can normally add a degree or two onto that!
  18. Nice little thunderstorm just rolled through, the first of the summer and I had just got the keys to the new house, hoping that's a good sign!!
  19. Beautiful weather for the last week or so! After a cool very wet morning it's a lot more humid now. Some heavy showers developing to the south of here over to the east of Kilmarnock which are showing lightning now... I think we'll miss the strongest cells but they are still developing. The storm warning just covers here: UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  20. It has arrived, a couple of minutes of torrential rain with a new river running down the street. Back to heavy rain now. Probably the most interesting weather for a few months...!
  21. Yeah been keeping an eye on that with another chance tomorrow night. Quite an intense squall now forming over Ayrshire and moving north/east. Sky looking interesting to south of here.
  22. Hammering it down now and we have a covering, I wasn't expecting to get anything this heavy over here!
  23. Quite a heavy snow shower about an hour ago, fields to the west were white. Another mammatus display now...
