  1. Very surprised to see that light sleet has switched over to moderate wet snow here!
  2. Snow on and off all day with sleet at times but mostly melted between showers. The streets all froze about 5pm and now the latest shower has settled on top and everything is white now, probably the best all day since it doesn't appear to be melting now.
  3. Heavy Snaw and everything is white again, nice! Just a day late but I'll take it
  4. Snowing here too, the road is covered in slush with tyre tracks so it must've been covered at some stage.
  5. We've got a little shower of hail and Freezing rain, the street is back to pure ice after melting today. Not expecting much tomorrow...
  6. Crazy scenes on the A82 at Tyndrum too... Hopefully link works. https://www.facebook.com/100044948148999/posts/pfbid02BhVJEmuqn7ud6Lu8nD4qMmkZRVbSHcdxQtBX5Er8GkLQMxMkcVEV2nyDRwoopVxwl/?app=fbl
  7. yes! The twice its tried to snow here its turned to sleet and rain quickly afterwords!
  8. Yep, so annoying given the cold in place and the look of the radar! Slushy mess outside here now which will just be annoying until it melts hopefully later.
  9. Amber snow warning issued for Glasgow area just in time for the sleet to arrive. (we're on the edge here)
  10. Yep, now its changed to sleet here as the heavier stuff moves in and everything melting - oh well, what a waste
  11. Yep looking good for the central belt, it's got a lot heavier now with everything covered. It should be with you soon too! 20221216_025047.mp4
  12. Yep, looks pretty good although it's not been falling as heavy here as the radar would suggest. We've hit yellow on the radar overhead with only very light snow falling, the cars are still frosted over which is a good sign tho! Not sure whether we're going to get a good dumping here or just be too far south for the heavier stuff, time to wait and see I guess
  13. I'm not sure we'll even get much in the way of precipitation here, the most persistent stuff looks like north of Glasgow (probably). I wouldn't be surprised if we get more from the showers after the front moves through Friday afternoon onwards!
  14. Met office have just amended the warning and increased possible snow totals for the cental lowlands to 5-10cm possible in places... Although still low liklihood.
  15. Aye not looking so good. The Latest met office text forecast mentions the potential for significant snow on Sunday with drifting though... onto the next chance then if this one goes north
  16. Yep, although I wouldn't be too disheartened as although the precip barely goes south of Glasgow on that image they have the warning all the way down to the border and across to the east coast. UKV has it over us between about 8am and lunchtime then potentially more bursts later in the day. My concern is that it may be sleet or freezing rain though! One for the radar on the day I think. If it does hit those areas as snow then that's potentially an amber warning given it covers the M77/M8 and others at peak travel time! Big difference to the latest GFS though which takes it even further north and only just reaches the central belt by about 3-6pm!
  17. Warning out for Friday It has trended north a little but it wouldn't take much of a nudge south to bring us into the larger snow amounts here... Outbreaks of sleet and snow will spread across much of southern, central and western Scotland through Friday. 1-3 cm of snow is likely in places below 200 metres, with 5-8 cm possible above 200 metres south of the Central Belt. Over high ground north of the Central Belt, there is potential for 10-20cm to accumulate above 200 metres through Friday. Later in the day, snow at low levels will likely turn to rain. In addition to the snow, sleet or rain may fall onto frozen surfaces leading to some icy conditions. UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  18. Another ice day and the dusting of snow From Saturday hasn't melted at all. - 9c last night and Freezing fog for most of the day which has just lifted. The trees look spectacular in the dark so should be some great views in the morning! - 6c when I took this photo about an hour ago.
  19. No real chance of anything until overnight Thursday into Friday, the models have the chance of precipitation into the Glasgow region for c.18hours from early Friday but it may be slightly too warm - one to watch over the next few days. Then there are further chances over the weekend and winds hopefully going round to the North West next week at times which gives us a better chance depending on how cold it gets but that's way off at the moment, certainly lots of interest!
  20. A difficult one this far out but one I'm following. It's a potentially very snowy weekend (and possibly into the start of the new week) with a good chance of those missing out so far taking part - or it could be very sleety for low ground! Edit: GFS12Z for example looks more like rain from the breakdown than snow for most, potential for a bit of snow on Friday for Western/Central areas though.
