  1. I can see distant lightning to the south now Friends and family reporting thunder and lightning across East Ayrshire.
  2. This doesn't look good Wildfire takes hold near caravan park at Daviot in Highlands WWW.BBC.CO.UK Fire crews are tackling a blaze at Daviot, south of Inverness, on the hottest day of the year. Netweather radar. The showers have all gone north of the Central Belt now, apart from a new storm moving into the castle Douglas area.
  3. Yeah I'm in Kilmarnock, that storm started forming to our south East, died off as it passed over us and then intensified. It now looks like a pretty strong storm over Kilbirnie way
  4. That storm over Sanquhar is heading Glasgow direction, I'm not in so it's guaranteed
  5. Toastie! It's warm here but with a slight breeze. Need to get a weather station... But I would estimate mid 20's at least, it was 20c by 10am! Some Acas beginning to move in now showing some instability. Great post about the storms @Kirkcaldy WeatherWeather. Noticed there is a heavy shower forming down near @SW Saltire already!
  6. Another very warm day with temps into the low to mid 20s. Just noticed that there might be a new grassland fire somewhere to the east I as I can see a huge plume of smoke rising into the air. Can't see any mention of anything on the news yet though.
  7. I went for a walk at lunchtime and could see the low cloud to the north and East of Glasgow. Nice and warm already
  8. Yeah chilly and cloudy morning but nice to open up the windows and let the house cool down before this afternoons heat. The sun has literally just started to come through here so it should warm up quickly
  9. Yep, amazing weather, strong sunshine and temps into the low 20's. Looks like we might even get to 25c midweek but either way a great week ahead. Still 21c here now with drought conditions. We had 1 day of rain 2 weeks ago and I think it might be about 3 weeks before that to the last decent rain here as we missed the showers. Therefore it's very dry here, the large SUDS pond at the front of the estate has now completely dried up and the water pressure has dropped due to my everyone's hosepipes in action!
  10. West is best I guess.... 19/20c just south of Ayr today and I'm sunburnt after being out on the beach most of the day This was one of the few cloudier spells.
  11. We've just had a heavy hail shower here. That's something that has not really been evident during recent winters. Anyway, April showers have at least begun early with bright blue sky now ahead of the next batch of rain
  12. Yep, very frustrating winter in terms of snowfall. Some really cold periods especially during December, but only dustings of snow here. We now have sleet which is on the verge of turning to snow now..
  13. Cold, drizzly rain here now - another bust for a potential frontal snowfall event, I've lost count how many that is now! Looking forward to April showers and a bit of warmth now too
  14. I have no idea what happened today but if its the bit I think you mean I've seen people come off the M77 and think that's a dual carriageway and they are on the wrong side of the road...its a tad scary when they're head on with you and they don't realise until the last minute! It's also a bit where cars don't realise the end of the M77 slip road is there and end up in the farmers field. With that steep slope plus snow and ice today I can imagine that could've been nasty too.
  15. The first time this winter we've had something hit from the North West, finally... 20230314_115914.mp4
  16. Very heavy snow here with everything turning white now after melting away earlier. Meto just issued a weather warning for it too.
  17. A heavy snow shower at 5am has given us a covering of snow on top of a layer of ice. Looks like more inbound
  18. Its finally changed over to snow here and lying on the cars. Rather typically the heavy precip is all to the west as it moves south so doesn't look like it'll come to much.
  19. Same a very wet day yesterday with snow melt, followed by torrential overnight rain. You should be well placed for some of those heavy snow showers later in the night and tomorrow morning at least I'm not convinced about the front, even if it snows it's likely to start before darkness so getting anything to settle will be an issue.
  20. The heavier precip has begun here and it is still snow (although not as heavy as I'd expect given the radar) . Pavements beginning to turn white with most other surfaces covered
  21. Yep, we're getting there. Will be interesting to see if that heavier bit stays as snow or if it changes over to sleet/rain...
  22. Very marginal, we've had some heavyish bursts and it's settled on the cars and grass but nothing on the pavements/roads yet. Nice to watch though!
