Radar shows some snow about to hit me here. This would explain why my temp is now reading 1c. Very cold out. Got the fire lit again! I can see out the front of our house looking north and can see it rolling in. Todays the real day then. Good luck all!

It's always about wait and see with snow. Thats also the hard part. Keep your powder dry folks! things could be significantly whiter in 24hrs. Wait and see.

Im Sooooooooooooooooooooo cold. Jumper on and fleece. (I'm inside the house!) Heating is now on and the fire is lit. Come on house heat up! Radar shows it's not far away at all. Hopefully another twenty mins or so. Temp outside is : 1c and steadily droping. Temp inside is : 13.8c and slowly rising! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

3c is still pretty cold. we have dropped to 0c but im sure we will rise to 3c through the day! Im not too worried about today as its just a bonus to the main event on Sat / Sun. Noted that BBC weather suggested this would be more sleet for NI :o

Used to live not far from you BFS, in Mount Merrion. Was in Belfast tonight and seemed to be getting quite a bit of snow but it wasn't lying. Heading out you could see the transition as I headed up the M2 hill section. Really is a different climate zone, that hill. Snow lying on the grass. Another shower looks to be heading for ballyclare. Temp is 1.7c here and I convienently have moved to a house with a lamp post right outside the living room window! Thankfully one of our kind neighbours has been out and gritted the road. I did it last time and was wondering if anyone else did it or was to become my job!

Not too sure for the -7 Frosty, but i think locally it will be colder than -2. Should see the gritters out today. I'm sure they will be doing a double grit on the roads for the upcoming snow!

Totally agree Wibbler! This is going to be a shock to the system. We moved house in the summer and have just found out the boiler in our new house is far to small for the house. Can't heat the place at all. Thankfully there is an open fire and back boiler so bought ten bags of logs the other day! Should be toasty (fingers crossed).

We have 4C hereand cloud cover but not in the least bit worried as im sure things will get colder as the day goes on. Relieved to see the end of the 8.5c's we have been seeing over the past couple of days. Better get to work now! See you all later on and we'll see what way the ground lies then! I remember it also. Had just left Carols by Candlelight at about 12.30am in a beautiful country Church, looked up and it started snowing. A real "Thats just like the Guinness advert", moment! Fit to burst here because my daughter hasn't really seen snow yet!

Just had a tremendous downpour here! Very slow moving. The gully's didn't stand a chance and there is a lot of surface water. Feel sorry for the guys who are running a vintage tractor fair in the park. Temp was 18 before it had and is at 15.5 and rising now it has passed. Hoping to get some more beefy showers later and fingers crossed for some lightening!
