  1. Good covering of snow on the higher hills NW of Strathpeffer this afternoon.
  2. Ha yes probably on the way to hell. I believe we need the wind power but more thought is needed to where they are sited plus the damn power lines from them should be run underground. The Highland beauty is rapidly being eroded. Back to the weather frosty last night before the rain this morning.
  3. Yes spot on, cracking place to break down if you have to. Some half wit drove through the lower bridge last Sunday on the Struie so it was closed for couple days now have lights up. They need to reign in these wind farms now, anyone been up past the Crask recently looks more like a cross between a runway and an industrial estate. First frosty morning here
  4. Not the best of pics as in bit of a hurry but autumn colours brightening up a drab day
  5. Very wet here from about 2pm , driven on by increasing westerly winds. Hens given up and gone back to bed but pigs seem as happy as well pigs in muck
  6. Well a forecast defying day here, expected a few showers but started wet and stayed wet swirling rolling bands of drizzle and light rain yuk
  7. Gloves and hat day today, bitter wind max 11.1C more geese flitting by. Odd passing mostly light drizzerly shower.
  8. Spotted the first squadron of geese heading south this evening, chattering excitedly as they passed.
  9. Torrential rain here and rumbling thunder by the sounds of it over Ben Klibreck
  10. Went very dark, a lot of thunder and lightning to the west mainly over Ben Assynt, spells of heavy rain here but now dryer and a tad brighter. Cooler now at 15c down from 22c and a lot less humid.
  11. Well Sutherland seems to be practising for Autumn now as we had about 3 or 4 hours yesterday of warm sunshine but then dull and much cooler with drizzerly mist, those conditions have continued this morning, currently 13.2C
  12. Well we did much need the rain and Friday dropped 0.86 of an inch in old money which makes it the wettest day since the thunderstorms of 21ST July last year, unfortunately it hasn’t really stopped raining since…..
  13. After very humid and very windy weekend, cooler feeling day today with a forecast defying hefty extended shower early evening giving a very much needed over a third of an inch rain. Some great skies yesterday evening or maybe Saturday all been a bit hectic lately
  14. Wonderful few days up here also joining the first 20c club with 20.9C. The two Kuni Kuni pigs Winston and Boris enjoying a cool down. IMG_0783.MOV
  15. Your humour and wit shines through hope you pull through to enjoy more of our wonderful weather
  16. As others have noted some decent rainfall at long last which is pleasing the pigs as well. Mention of the various growing concerns re farming costs, growing food shortages and prices rocketing reminded me of this below. Some extraordinary cold weather around the globe
  17. Busy busy lately so bit behind on the weather news, after weeks of wanting rain now it’s here it’s ug. Been wild out and was beaten back from fencing by ferocious gusty winds into the mid 40mph s with occasional horizontal showers with windchill down to 4c at times. By the fire with a particularly large brandy this evening to thaw out. Sat pm and Sunday look like summer then back to autumn
  18. Been a mostly glorious week bar couple of much needed showers early in the week. A couple of very frosty mornings but but great weather to get stuck into repairing some of the stone walling.
  19. Yep big difference, very wintery day here Tuesday, does look tad warmer up here as well next week..maybe
  20. Still dank and cold down here in France but back home good fall of snow yesterday, slow thaw today but more snow due tonight
  21. Well looks like the snow has arrived back home, snap shot from the field cam
