  1. Missed a better photos of the front coming in as out with the mad hound but this below as dusk gathered.
  2. Glorious start again here, temps down to minus 7.8C hovering around minus 3.5C at moment. My pet icicle is now an impressive 32 inches.
  3. Yes around another 4cm today piling up on the existing snow but otherwise melting a bit on the lane etc in the sun. Further hefty showers this evening giving a good covering on all surfaces. We have some icicles 2 foot long. Apparently over 6 inches of fresh snow today around Altnaharra today. Looks interesting again next week after slightly less cold blip Sunday
  4. Cut across to M1 then up before coming off Chesterfield or Matlock depending on conditions. Minus 15.9C up here and around 22cm snow since Monday so should be tad milder down there
  5. Another brilliant clear but bitter morning. Minus 11.4C on the Davies Pro but in lower field in Stevenson screen minus 15.9C
  6. This just over Struie higher than Rheanbreck but no snow and only around inch or so on darker side just shows how localised some of the showers were. Also great shower cloud towards the north
  7. -10.6c here, -13.6c in lower field. Snow showers to the far north and freezing fog in the valley over Lairg. Just watched BBC Scotland weather she was saying minus 16C was the coldest in UK since 2010 doh. Think she must have meant in March but you think they would know without checking..
  8. We really catch the snow when the showers come down Nw-N wind over Loch Shin between Ben More Assynt and Ben Klibreck, both over 3000 foot so bit like a funnel
  9. Snowing hard again here so at this rate I will not mind missing out on the Thurs /Fri blizzard. A note re XCW in its defence during the snowy conditions during December and again this week it has systematically underplayed the snow rates for this neck of the woods.
  10. Busy morning digging out, around 7 maybe 8 inches here , which have eased so not drifting. Temp struggled to -2.4c at the moment. Very fluffy powdery snow.
  11. Hopefully the snow up here will spread out a bit to other folk but at the moment heavy snow setting in again. IMG_1110.MOV
  12. Good three inches of powdery snow here which is readily drifting. Icicles everywhere too.
  13. Well snow has arrived here, just a dusting but bit fluffy flakes setting in now. Will take a pic or two on way out .
  14. 2.1C hear chilly wind with sporadic ( great word that) outbreaks of rain. All ready for snow and as others have said Friday looks interesting!
  15. Well the benign weather continues although flicker of interest at -7C this morning. Cracking day now with barely a cloud. Pigs Boris and Winston content munching their breakfast ignoring the views behind them.
  16. Gusts up to 61mph last night, few branches down. Calmer and bit colder this morning but dry.
