  1. Steady snow overnight here giving several more cms , no wind so no drifting. Heavier snow this morning with temp of -1.3C at the moment. Looks like Central Belt could catch some snow this afternoon. We are attempting to get to Dingwall shortly coming back maybe more challenging looking at the radar. Video from about 830am today IMG_1359.MOV
  2. A few heavy but brief snow showers this morning but mostly dry afternoon apart from a few brief flurries. Temps well below zero all day and down to -5.4C earlier lifted a bit now has steady snow is falling. Large fluffy flakes with hardly any wind.
  3. Bright sunny start to proceedings after a wild night. Currently minus 4.3C windchill was -8 at some stage in the night, as others have said hard to judge depth with all the drifting but I reckon 14-16cm. Large fluffy flakes falling again but winds have dropped away. Lane only passable with 4x4.
  4. Wind howling with steady spells of snow, considerable drifting too. A small drift forming by the back door. The morning could be interesting.
  5. Snow beginning to settle in now as temps drop further. 72693651227__924E123A-C981-4A18-9ECE-CA694BC0071E.MOV
  6. Gone very dark here now, showers becoming more intense now, howling winds in squally showers. Pigs had enough and gone back to bed.
  7. Still flurries here as heavier showers skirt slightly to east but temps dropping now below freezing coupled with strengthening NW wind pushing windchill down to minus 4 so had to change my hat to the serious one!
  8. Cold raw wind as dusk slinks in with temps slowly sinking down to 3.3C with light drizzle plus odd burst of rain. Winds slowly freshening from the NW.
  9. Eyes peeled ready Currently 4.9C bright with sunny spell icy feel to the wind though.
  10. Well ready and primed here. Ground still rock hard with plenty of ice about but temperature bit higher at 3.9C with now a noticeable breeze from w/nw
  11. Slight frost here but grounds still rock hard, current temps 0.7C dull, murky but hint of brightness.
  12. Certainly looks interesting next week! Low of minus 6.7c early in the night gradually rising currently -0.4C Dull and cloudy
  13. Magical, and good covering at my folks in Normandy first for a few years IMG_1321.MOV
  14. Down to minus 7.2C last night, struggled up to minus 3.4 just now with freezing fog lifting slightly. Frozen hard now but spectacular
  15. Max of minus 2.4 here and already past minus 5. Glorious with freezing fog all around lower down. Popped to Inverness for supplies and as Northern Strath noted real pea souper down there. View from The Struie on way back was stunning
  16. Thick freezing fog coupled with hard frost at minus 5.2, off out in the van to get stocked up ahead of next week. Sleet falling in Normandy too.
  17. Chilly but DRY day here frosty morn with temps briefly upto 3.6C but mostly around 1C . Cloudy with a few suspiciously watery sunny spells. Trouble with these idiotic warnings when its minus 1 etc is more and more people will just ignore them. Can you imagine a cold spell similiar to the current one across Scandanavian in the se...
  18. Yet another grim day, driving rain relentlessly pushing in before finally dryer this evening. Glorious frosty all day yesterday to start the year. Fingers crossed it looks dryer and frosty from the weekend onwards.
  19. Hideous foul day here, minus 1 and light rain this morning making everywhere even more icy, afternoon brought fog and v cold drizzle before howling Gale accompanied by driving sleet towards dusk.
