  1. Long drive down to Scarborough broken up by hotel in Gretna Monday evening. Timed it right with worse of the winds just to south. Took good pic of Storm Debbie just as approached Gretna. Did rain all the way down and all the way back though.
  2. Frosty start at -2.8c and for first time this autumn the frost never cleared from the shade and thickened again this evening. Looks soggy tomorrow though.
  3. Nice calm cold clear morning 2C. Good covering on the higher hills. Ben Assynt and Ben Klibreck pictured.
  4. Numerous mice a problem here too, despite 3 cats have had several in the house. Also one has taken up residence in my van, happily munching through the sound proofing in the foot well, think I will have to set a trap in there before he reaches the electrics. Another wet and very windy morning temps around 6C in harsh nor easterly windchill around 2-3C another 17mm rain overnight.
  5. Mild but gusty winds 9.5C spells of mostly light rain with, just to tease watery sunshine thrown in. Looks stormy next week and yet more rain....
  6. Blue sky at last but still light showers 7.4c and calm. 67mm rain over the weekend. Looks dry tomorrow
  7. 42mm rain overnight, temps 6C still blowing hard. Flooding lower down but not been out and about yet
  8. Heavy driving rain here really setting in now, past 15mm winds violently gusting from SE but thanks to trees and polytunnel weather station not picking upthe higher gusts which I would guess around 60mph. Large tree down on lower Lairg to Bonar road. On roof window clearly see sleet in the torrential burst despite temperature hovering around 9C . Pigs went to bed at 230pm and not been seen since!
  9. Wild here with just drizzle in the wind. Reading some guy, Steve Connelly I think who is a transport chief I believe stated that last floods a couple of weeks back were the worst severe weather in Scotland since 1890!! either yet another example of hype hysteria or typo from the BBC either way not corrected. If reports are correct we are looking at up to 3 inches of rain here. 71940025641__2E9B453D-E99B-44B6-B47B-2ED7D6E28D55.MOV
  10. Waders at the ready, thankfully we are high up but looks grim none the less. Just working out as approximately one inch rain gives around ten inches snow we would be looking at around 30-40 inches on a se severe Gale, Aberdeenshire higher parts would be looking at 80-100 inches of snow so maybe good job it is not January!
  11. Snow was falling widely once north of Dalwhinnie last night but wet snow so not sticking much. Higher hills have good covering with Ben Wyvis pictured, weather later in the week looks interesting/worrying to say the least.. 20231014_224535[47313].mp4
  12. Driving over the higher mountain road on the Isle ofMan this morning to catch the morning ferry to Liverpool there was a covering of wet snow over the road (height approx 1300ft, expecting the hills back home will catch the first snow cover later today as I make the long drive home. V windy and showery back home on the north facing field cam
  13. Wet night up here, still heavy rain here but doesn’t look as bad as further south. Half inch rain so far and temps hovering at 6.5C
  14. Cold wet and rather dismal here 11.3C max 5mm rain and gusty winds of around 25 mph.
  15. The lightning in Dornoch last night | By Graham Spurs Brewer | Facebook FB.WATCH The lightning in Dornoch last night I am on west coast of France near Mimizan fierce heat at around 35C but girlfriend sent me the clip by Graham Brewer in Dornoch, she had similar in Lairg
