  2. Icy start with last nights snow about 3cm frozen, its around minus 1 at the moment and it is raining! Nothing on radar either..
  3. Cold raw day here with bitter breeze from Nw, snow showers give a covering mixed with touch frost. Workable day today in between further winter showers with heavier snow showers this evening giving a good coverage. heavier snow last hour with temps minus 0.01 after a high of 2.2C today.
  4. Horrendously wild out now but driving sleet increasingly turning to snow, flooding appearing widely across the fields.
  5. 1.9C and as I suspected heavy sleety rain driven on severe Gale mix in a lot of sheet ice it made for interesting trek to feed the animals. Pigs refused to come out understandably.
  6. Sheet ice here at minus 3 hopeful but not entirely convinced we will the snow tomorrow but certainly cold enough now. As others have noted nice halo around the moon.
  7. After good covering of snow last night Boxing Day started frosty and as happens up here the frost intensified through the morning to give very icy conditions. Managed a walk up to the wind turbines before further heavy snow showers set in this afternoon. last video later this afternoon as the snow set in. IMG_1289.MOV
  8. Light wet snow here around 4AM giving slight slushy covering then sleety rain early afternoon wth occassional snow flakes so tech a white Christmas. Cold clearer and frosty now. Great to sewe some of the pics a tad further south.
  9. Merry Christmas everyone, 3C here and sleety showers with severe gales easing slightly. Wandered over to Cassley Falls near Rosehall about 8 miles now of Lairg today. Huge amount of water rushing down with the valley below flooded right across IMG_1284.MOV
  10. Same here very slow that although everything very soggy, temperature forecast to be around 7C by now still stuck at 0.4C and still raining although tad lighter.
  11. Cold wet with sleety rain and odd wet snowflake thick white on Ben More and Klibreck and snow level falling, might see a covering before yet more rain tomorrow.
  12. Wild stormy night last night with yet more heavy rain, violent gusts of wind significantly higher I think than the 48mph on the weather station as it’s slightly sheltered by the trees in a nor westerly. Brief but squally showers with a few wet flakes appearing. Early night after enduring day long hangover today after drinks with the neighbours last night..
  13. Very mild and windy here 11.3C winds gusting high 30s, glimpses of the sun but also light spits rain. Few photos of the damage caused by Storm Ciaran in Normandy around my parents house. The damage is unbelievable, the nearby forest was so dark when you walked through you could hardly see the sky now is almost completely flattened. It even snapped marble headstones in the local church
  14. 10.9C here 5.30pm which feels positively spring like, nice as it is it better had turn more seasonal next week!
  15. Nice dry!! And frosty morning. Looks like Christmas period is starting to look interestingly seasonal …maybe
  16. Another grim raw wet day, hefty showers clearing away soon after dark (320pm!) then clean starry night with widespread frost setting in , will be icy in the morning I think.
  17. A cold raw day at 3.3C today down to 2.2 now but stars have disappeared and showery rain yet again.
  18. Down in France now milder but wet, damage from Storm Ciaran is incredible to see will take some pics. Did manage to see some snow at my brothers in Staffs, a rather heavy night so pics nI think we’re about 2am.. Back home slight thaw but as others have said beginning to freeze again not helped by freezing rain this morning. A few pics from back home yesterday.
  19. Reports from home report just a dusting but frosty so at least I am not missing too much whilst in cold and frosty but snowless Midlands
  20. Headed out at 4am ug this morning, Rheanbreck down towards Bonar Bridge was icy as still frosty despite light rain falling in, much milder towards Inverness before encountering heavy wet snow falling off and on around Aviemore to Dalwhinnie. Now in Blackpool (ghastly place) mild at 9C. Quite a few large stags and deer out and about around Ardgay and over The Struie.
  21. Wonderfully dry sunny and frosty so enjoyable after weeks nay months of wet. Stunning views after the Northern Lights last night which I managed to miss yet again. Hard frost intensifying this morning as freezing fog rolled in. Milder blip tonight seems to have disappeared and frost again forecast, heading south at 4am and in the Midlands Thursday which may catch some snow which will know doubt cause chaotic scenes..
