Wild stormy night last night with yet more heavy rain, violent gusts of wind significantly higher I think than the 48mph on the weather station as it’s slightly sheltered by the trees in a nor westerly. Brief but squally showers with a few wet flakes appearing. Early night after enduring day long hangover today after drinks with the neighbours last night..

Very mild and windy here 11.3C winds gusting high 30s, glimpses of the sun but also light spits rain. Few photos of the damage caused by Storm Ciaran in Normandy around my parents house. The damage is unbelievable, the nearby forest was so dark when you walked through you could hardly see the sky now is almost completely flattened. It even snapped marble headstones in the local church

Headed out at 4am ug this morning, Rheanbreck down towards Bonar Bridge was icy as still frosty despite light rain falling in, much milder towards Inverness before encountering heavy wet snow falling off and on around Aviemore to Dalwhinnie. Now in Blackpool (ghastly place) mild at 9C. Quite a few large stags and deer out and about around Ardgay and over The Struie.

Wonderfully dry sunny and frosty so enjoyable after weeks nay months of wet. Stunning views after the Northern Lights last night which I managed to miss yet again. Hard frost intensifying this morning as freezing fog rolled in. Milder blip tonight seems to have disappeared and frost again forecast, heading south at 4am and in the Midlands Thursday which may catch some snow which will know doubt cause chaotic scenes..
