  1. Not sure if it's just me but it seems to lose intensity very quickly once it goes inland off the south coast? Looks like it's making a good track towards where I am in Reading right now, looking promising if it keeps going like it is.
  2. Saturday was interesting in Reading, around 3-4pm it went from nice sunshine to very dark and ominous, I was at work trying to sell a house before the end of the day and I was driving to the east of Reading and thought this cell has all the makings for a thunderstorm, looked at the maps and there was nothing, suddenly 3-4 bolts of lightning came from the cell and it kicked off, had good regular lightning for about 20 mins before it passed over the east, had a few land relatively close to where i was, it stopped anyone coming to view this house till it passed so was cool standing in the doorway and watching it go over. Literally was nothing until it got to Reading and then it just started to unleash some real energy, pretty sure there was hail in a later storm shower that happened on Sunday too.
  3. Well the Home Counties were pretty quiet compared to the rest of the UK over the last three nights, I slept through the worst night of it and only saw a few forks last night while out and about. I just read through your thread about the 2nd-4th July 2015 and the supercell that hit Bournemouth that started a pretty lively night for the UK. I thoroughly enjoyed going through all the posts. I lived in central Bournemouth at the time and i've never encountered anything like that night in the UK, especially being a direct hit for the cell that broke out from the channel and went straight overhead, seemed like 2/3 flashes a second in it's peak, it was so intense, brilliantly loud, couldn't hear the thunder over the boom of the localised bolts landing very close to home, came and went in about 30-45 minutes, but it was just crazy at the time. Hopefully I can capture some footage in some future storms and share them here. Nice to see some strong interest in the storms in the UK.
