Are we supposed to get more rain later on today?
My vue only recorded 2.4mm of rain..
Wondering if the nearby tree is catching most of it
Anywhere where I can see local rain totals?

Spent most of today getting my wooden post into it's spike ready to mount for the Vantage Vue,
Finally got it in the ground and level, just giving it the final coat of paint now then I'll attach the mounting kit to it

Finally got home early this morning!
Left Paris at 2:30pm and arrived in Calais for 7, had a 3 hour delay for boarding and spend another 2.5hrs on the boat due to huge queues, only 1 boat was allowed in the harbour at a time.
After switching coaches in Maidstone I finally got back to Southend at 2:30am, and back in Benfleet for 3!
Sheet rain and thunder & lightening around Calais late last night, and a few nice frosts in Paris, the ferry crossing was grim to say the least, people falling over, chairs flying and beers smashing, horrendous but fun, especially up on the smoking deck, don't know how we we're still allowed up there tbh, the gusts must have been at least 70mph

Not looking forward to that storm predicted Wednesday at all, I go to Paris tomorrow morning and come back on the 5th, via ferry.

Off to southend in this miserable weather, looks like this band of rain is going to be sticking around for a while!
-
No proper snow at all, not one flake
Had about 30 seconds of icy rain / sleet some time back in early November, that's about it

I got a Vantage Vue for Christmas as well as a mounting kit, still haven't set it up!
Bought the wooden post and hammered it into a 75cm spike, need to get it in the ground, it's ideal conditions with all this wet ground, trouble is it's SO miserable outside, the garden is a swamp and I can't even get to the mounting area due to the amount of standing water in the garden!
May have to wait till spring

HAIL, MEGA STRONG WINDS WOW! SURPRISING!
Nice!
Will be here in 30 minutes, and is apparently developing further!
I was hoping to have a bonfire tonight, (everything is soaked through, wood I'm not worried about, it's the cardboard which I need to light the fire!) I was hoping for no rain today
I have the christmas tree, my old wardrobe, the old garage roof, about 6 broken fence panels and at least 50 boxes to burn, all on an old cut down bush area in the garden which needs to be killed
If we have another sudden downpour, petrol may be needed as an ignition source tonight

Down to 3.1c here now, so in for a chance of something wintry come the early morning (if I'm in the right place!)

3.9c now, getting there!
Make that 3.8c lol

just had sleet
Looking good then! How much more do you think the temperature will drop over night?
Looking at the radar that is heading my way, and it's now just above 5c here, seems a bit high for sleet

+1 I ain't missing this for the world!
It's been 10 month too long since most of us have seen any of the white stuff!
Also: 6.5c here now, sloowly coming down!

8c here now, temps going up not down!!
-
I dunno, I mean even if we did get snow (and even when it s forecast it often doesn't happen), the ground is too wet for it to lay, I think.
+1
Also, even if it did settle, as it warms up later in the morning/sunrise that snow will turn back to rain, washing anything that has settled down the drain!
I think tonight may be a late one for me, don't want to miss the best chance of snow yet
-
Touch and go for a snow in our area are we saying at this stage?
very!
-
It seems to be getting warmer here if anything! 7.7c and slowly rising,
We're gonna have to loose at least 5c of that by early morning to have any chance of any snow!
-
7c here
Obviously it should cool down somewhat tonight even with cloud cover, I heard someone in the MOD thread a few days ago saying that we will see a colder back edge to the precipitation, which will turn the rain to sleet or snow.
Pretty rare I heard

Just had a look at Metcheck's 6 month forecast for a bit of a laugh, it shows my area won't get above 20c all summer!

Netweather and raintoday radars haven't updated since 10am - any ideas why?
I was just about to ask the same thing, it's driving me nuts!
Also, it's started spitting here in Benfleet, and I can see a few white specks coming down here and there too! Tonight will be interesting
