Climbing on to roofs to measure snow, this reminds me of something funny I had to a few winters back!
After a night of heavy snow, my mum decided that she wanted the Christmas lights putting up, so my job was to get onto the flat 2 story roof and shift the snow to make it safe to work on, down the street all my neighbours were ploughing their drives clearing the paths, meanwhile I'm 30 foot in the air ploughing all the snow off of the rooftop!
Had a few funny looks that evening

7.2c here right now
Roll on the cold!!!!!
-
My minimum temps have downgraded from -2.5c overnight tuesday / weds to -0.9c, everything else looks 'cool' in comparison!
At this rate I may end up just missing an air frost
-
No it would not
It's mild for what I'm expecting from the next coming days though!
Hell I'm still out and about in a t-shirt today XD
-
Still mild here! 9.2c
-
I'll join in!
Put me down for Benfleet

are we really on lampost watch already?
What is this lampost watch I hear of?
I'ts not sitting at the bedroom window at silly hours of the morning looking at a lampost to see if snow is falling is it?
I used to do that

Some are saying snow to lower levels only up in the northern half of the country, I can see they have -8 uppers, where I have -6, Metcheck shows snow for my area overnight, is it more or less a case of waiting for the precipitation and seeing what falls out of the sky?
Max temps here for Tues / Weds are 3.5c, also I can't see where much of this precipitation is coming from, the GFS has a few gaps in it?
Waiting for the 12z run to finish updating right now!

I think it was the swear filter?
Who knows what you were trying to say!
-
how can i look at it please?
Here you go
MC also showing Snow for Benfleet on weds! But rain for Southend!
If this does somehow pull off, I may be missing college on Weds
Not because 'it snowed', but because I want to see the first fall in my area !

Another slight ground frost this morning
Min temp: 2.4c (lowest so far this autumn) about 15 mins ago
Current temp: 2.8c
Pressure: 1035.1... wow!
Is there any chance that because of this monster high pressure over us right now, some of that colder upper atmosphere air is being forced down upon us, which is why many of us are experiencing the lowest temperatures so far this autumn? Just a thought
-
Currently 10.8c
Min this morning of 2.5c, around 1am
Nice ground frost developed last night, gone by the morning though due to the cloud cover which crept in around 3am
Pressure: 1022.3hPa
-
Oh dear!
The rents go away to Scotland on the 28th!
I am envious
-
Currently 3.5c here with a maximum today of 9.
Lowest temp here this autumn was 3.2c a few nights ago, so we should beat that tonight!
May see my first ground frost this autumn tonight if it stays clear long enough
Pressure: 1025.2hPa rising

A March 2013 Easterly would do me. Was utter rubbish for this area due to the colder North Sea, had it been a few months earlier though, much of the country would have been buried (I know some were)
What difference does a colder north sea make?
Would it mean that there's less energy in the sea, and so less moisture is sucked up to produce snow clouds?
If that's wrong, please correct me, it was a guess and I'm here to learn

Pressure has pretty much leveled out now at 998.4hPa
Current temp: 4.3c
-
Pressure now 996.3hPa, climbing, temperature now down to 7.0c
Predicted to fall between 3-4c tonight, looking forward to registering a new low for autumn! current min is 4.3c
Todays max was 9.8c
-
If only tonight stayed clear my area may have seen it's first ground frost!
As you can see the cloud starts rolling in around 3am, I reckon if the sky stayed clear I could've seen an air temp of maybe the low 2's by 7am!
EDIT: Actually I've only just seen the predicted ground temps, all hope is lost now At least tonight will be the coldest here so far this autumn!
Minimum temp so far seen this season is 4.3c, that was the morning of Halloween!
-
Overnight low of 6.2c here, nowhere near a ground frost !
Currently 8.3c, cloudless, still and cool morning
992.0mb and rising
-
Max temperature today of 15.2c
Currently 9.8c
Winds here right now of around 20mph, no rain

It's looking like Tuesday morning will be the coldest so far this autumn in the south east region.
Closest we're going to get to a ground frost so far looks like 2.4c or there abouts, I'm in quite a built up area so I reckon some of the more remote areas may just see their first ground frost down here
Here's hoping the temperature forecasts will lower a bit further before Tuesday!

I'll chip in with a 7.7c
