I'm hoping for 20cm plus. Not being greedy it's just I catch the train to work from Horwich parkway to Manchester piccadilly and could do with the trains being cancelled and having a few days off.

For all those in Greater manchester we want the wind direction to be EAST or NORTH EAST
I've always said I'm from lancs not Greater Manchester. So will I not be in the shadow

What is it with the MOD thread? People desperately saying still room for more southward movement. No charts to back up their claim, no reasoning why they think it will move more southward.
The MetO have issued a amber warning area due to the fact they are sure that this is the area that is going to be hit.
Yet Fred from Essex thinks they are wrong lol

Question. Does Manchester airport cancel there flights in advance of the amber weather warning? I'm catching a plane to Tenerife at 10AM Sunday.
No.
It would cost the airport thousands of pounds for a weather warning that could not happen.

North Easterly wind and the North East get pasted.
Easterly wind and the East get pasted.
North Westerly wind and Shropshire and the West mids get battered.
Got to love our region..

I hope the large rainshadow was not there in the earlier frame.
Well the MetO dont think so hence the amber warnings.
BBC are still getting their data from the Met.

Notice cumulus development to my west has a bit more oomph. Some radar echoes coming from that area
Cloud cover becoming a bit more widespread now. This morning the cloud cover was to my west looking at West Lancashire.. now the clouds are south and East of me

Had a gut feeling that we would miss out on the fun on Sunday.
Dusting of snow from overnight has all but melted.
Double whammy

Got to laugh at the snow showers heading over the hills into Yorkshire. .. the very same hills that block snow coming to our part of the world.

I honestly think the snow showers that hit us were too early. If we would have got them around about now things could have been very different..
DP''s in the Region must be on the up like the Temps.
75% snow cover gone
