  1. Yep watching this closely hope it clips me in Bollington
  2. I think there may be a few surprises tonight, I know I’m in favoured area at 165m but these systems from the north even with warmer air aloft sometimes pep up this side of the Pennines.
  3. Ok so it’s snowing! Wasn’t expecting that at all this far south
  4. I can’t imagine any showers getting across this far south but stranger things have happened
  5. Meanwhile snow is falling over a large part of the country and I have -5 over the snowfields!
  6. After watching my friends surf with a cider in my hand! I went swimming!
  7. We have a light flurry of snow at the moment which is always nice to see
  8. I think a few light flurries aren’t out of the question.
  9. Yep my friends in Cornwall have been sending me pictures! Quite a covering next to the north coast.
  10. My friends on the north coast of Cornwall have just sent me pictures of the snow falling there! More than a lot of this region.
  11. Freezing hard, bit foggy. No more snow for this far east I am sure.
  12. May have been something else going on in 1940 as well. Can’t remember what but my dad mentioned something once. He also did talk about the 1940 and 1941 winter as he had just started his gardening apprenticeship at the age of 14.
  13. More still in Bollington as has been freezing fog and we had a little more
  14. 5” here just measured in top of my landrover driven down to Macc where is about 3” and more melt
  15. Which models do you use to come to that forecast?
  16. The met office app now shows snow for me on Sunday is this something to keep an eye on?
  17. Our local bus is still running but it just went past my house sliding from side to side not sure I would want to be on it!
  18. I know we obviously remember Feb 1991 for its deep snow but I’m sure we also had a heavy fall with a polar low in December 1990 although I may be wrong! I was a student in London and remember traveling back for Christmas in deep snow and then being snowed in London in February.
  19. No wind at here yet. Very still. Unusual I wonder whether it will pick up or not.
  20. Yes my only issue is I’m a gardener specialising in wildlife garden design and I need to have enough to work to survive else I’d be there!
  21. I do find it fascinating how Buxton gets snow. I know it has a high altitude but there is a part of east Cheshire running across to Buxton and it rarely fails to get snow if there is any about. I am in a favoured location looking out on an inch of snow but I’m tempted to move over the hill to Buxton anyway!
