Looks good I think we have all focused on the low and forgot about our snow chances on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Think I will call time on our snow chances now nearly all models agree the low being even further North and has us at 10c. Also longevity of cold spell now looks to be gone. Wind and flooding look to be the issue now. Thank god we had the snow in December or phone might have been smashed lol. Still 4 days and we can but hope for changes but it dosent look good at present.

If it was just gfs showing this storm I would think it's just gfs overpaying it again. But ECM joining the party and says you all what an Easterly so bad I will blow the UK to the east lol. But in all seriousness this could be brutal wind speeds of 90mph inland. Also I hope it dosen't coincide with high tide. After a dull weather week this week next week looks anything but.

So it might be short term pain for long term gain in terms of Snowfall as the EC and GFS both have the low further North giving only our Scottish friends some snow. But both go on to show a winter wonderland so basically seems all routes lead to cold what could go wrong. Cough, shortwave lol.

Things are looking very tasty from Tuesday onwards. Two streamers and a runner all predicted to hit the Midlands I think Buxton is going to get smashed I think up to 60 cms could fall there between Tuesday to Sunday. Thats if the models are correct off course. Anywhere could see significant Snow.

I would be amazed if most of the Midlands don't at least get a covering from this especially with most of the Midlands having decent elevation. The Welsh mountains won't suck up all the ppn and this looks like lasting at least 10 days as the wind direction changes to a Northerly then a North easterly it looks like. And we all know our streamers can come at very short notice and give us surprises. next 2 to 3 days will be interesting to see what the models predict in terms of Snowfall and what will actually happen. I see a snowy cold Midlands for at least 10 days.

Yep i would say the Midlands Northwards it's almost identical to what the Midlands was plastered with in December. That is some cold air coming from the west also minor adjustments will hopefully put the rest of the UK in the game. But this looks a very snowy run I would like to be in the Peak district if this came off as modelled. Do you think the block would stall the front and if so will it help or hinder the upper temps.

Yh there is just no deep cold in Europe at present in fact the uppers from the west are similar has that ever happened before. Also looks like Greenland is open for attack as the PV looks like packing it's bags. Just hope the next American deep freeze dosen't dash our hopes again.

Midlands have also faired well this winter with about 4 decent falls and one very heavy fall that blanketed the Midlands in a foot of snow. But I would like an Easterly for the Southerns even though a NW PM incursion does the job for me from an imby point of view. I want to see the whole country get in on the act and it's clear as day the models still haven't got a good grasp on how much energy is going to come from NE America and fire up the Atlantic. Expect the Models to look very diffrent in a few days time.

Not to disappointed in what looks likely another Easterly fail there was never true cold to tap into. Still looks like a battleground scenario could bring some snowfall with a few minor tweaks. We need to get the cold uppers into Europe then hope we can get a true easterly later on. Still see plenty of PM incursions and cold Zonality can still deliver for most. Still 7 weeks of Drama to come hope you all get some snow.

Massive flakes here. Midlands have had a lucky winter so far were just on the right side of marginal.

Very heavy snow all roads and pavements are white again. And ppn is really intense now for the Midlands for a good few hours.

Turning bk to snow here had an hour of sleet that washed away the earlier snow but later looks interesting as the cold air digs in and the Band pivots back over us around 4am.

Yh agree it's the best start to Winter by a mile and the Mids has been very lucky so far hope it continues into January where it will be less marginal.

Snow looks to be in trouble tonight with rain incoming but possible snow again for tomorrow night and also possibilities into weekend what a great start to Winter.

Seems chance of snow tonight and into the weekend surely not. Snow hasn't even thawed that much if our snowfields keeps temps down we could get snow Wed night. # GREEDY MIDLANDS. LOL.
