  1. Under greens and yellows now. No snow. The sheild around Burton on Trent is in full effect.
  2. Well you are one. Worry away. Rain floods and storms are pretty common in this country every year. Like last year for one. Snowy cold weather events are very much less common. It is much harder to get all the things to fall into place to produce memorable spell. Therefore for many it is much more interesting for posters to look for cold than be worrying about normal UK weather. For instance it is the 18th of Jan and it is already storm Christoph. Post away with rain totals and flood warnings. Others can post whatever charts interest them.
  3. Glad today was a day without rain til tonight. Not looking forward to rest of week getting soaked but alas that is what we get in this country. Things don't look promising at the moment this winter. Looking for scraps really. Maybe February will give us more chances will see, But will not be as invested in the models as I was earlier this month with the promising Neverland charts. I personally will not be paying any interest to any event this week which will most likely be let down again or very brief in nature. Keep the faith 5.7c
  4. Also pleased about this, to think I was slightly worried about the road conditions today. Should not have even thought about it.
  5. As long as it is like normal should be fine thanks for replies all.
  6. I'm ok then as long as they say I will get some then I am safe. Rain Is fine! As every time has been wrong. It's the times where nothing is forecast that pay off
  7. Great thank you. Usually Id be all for snow loving it but I am doing 6 days and Saturday is my only night don't want to end up stuck out in middle of nowhere, when I should be home drinking.
  8. Evening guys. Not looked tonight what are the chances of a snow event for tomorrow? I am out on the roads all day tomorrow and want to be prepared. If it is going to be a pathetic non event like earlier this week them I am ok. Really don't want to get stuck away from home delivering. Wondering what the concensus is so far? I am on the border here in Burton east and west midlands.
  9. They see somthing in fantasyland and it's nailed on then get to +48 and it disappears. Lots of Prams and toys involved then it all starts over again.
  10. Unless we get real cold in chasing these marginal affairs is disheartening. Every snow event so far Burton has missed out by the slightest of margins almost every way possible. It's comical. We had falling snow but nothing stuck. Wether we will get reasonable cold in is another question mod thread has picked up abit tonight but anything decent is always 10 days away.
  11. Never has an app bee so useless as the BBC app in winter. I only have it to amuse myself or as sort of a guideline. It has shown heavy snow since like 10am today, No snow. Not only this time but every other time it's wrong and miles out with temps all the time. I don't know what calculations they use for it but it is laughable how bad it is. Still got snow til 6pm we will see.
  12. Another pathetic spectacle here. It was too mild for too long it was always going to be nothing notable. I praise the people here who keep positive and said wait until later earlier. But this morning you could tell it was not going to be our day. Hopefully more chances this winter all round it has promised alot and delivered very little overall so far. Now I have to put up with winterfest pictures from family in Sheffield.
  13. Temps climbing here rain not a supprise the main band has passed now if it ever turns it won't amount to much everything is sodden. Will see looks like washout need to get decent cold in.
  14. All the snow has vanished from the BBC app for me now replaced by rain with sleet.
  15. Yes may well be out of it before anything turn to snow.
  16. Under the heaviest part now and all rain it is turning back to rain around derby area. Out to get soaked again will see if it turns at all.
  17. Yeah I just get excited then annoyed over and over. Only because these people know alot more than me about the models. But if the UK has a 5% chance of finding mild out amazing charts and synoptics then it will. Think the worst then it's a supprise if we get cold or snow that's what I do.
  18. 2.2c here in Burton it's hardly dropping at all amazed at the difference in temps by distance. I think any of us will have to be very lucky to see any snow.
  19. Wish I had read the Steve murr posts... Always find it funny how stressed people get. Enjoyed his cold weather posts though Hope he comes back. Anyway not sure on snow chances seems too mild.
  20. Good evening guys. Got in soaked all day never stopped, soaked loading up in morning soaked delivering soaked soaked soaked... I was abit dispondant today glanced at the model thread this morning and it was all knashing of teeth and toys leaving prams so was thinking we will be stuck missing the cold still. Anyway people seem excited in here now so maybe it's not all bad. As the rain kept coming today I thought this must be the snow risk coming in but I guess it's later tonight. It was 6c in the van then was 4c from around 2pm. Now 2.6c and a DP of 1.6c wind is ENE now so that's interesting. So if anything comes now it will be rain unless the temps fall away quickly from now. Dare I look at the other threads is it still all doom and gloom? How are we looking for cold chances?
  21. Yes saw that wether it come off or not is another thing. Things seem to be getting interesting. Makes lockdown more Bareable still able to ride the model rollercoaster with all the theme parks closed.. Some will do very well if this verified.
  22. Lovely British winter here 7c and damp with showers.
