  1. Oh wow look at the radar! Just got home from work. Definetly west yorkshire turn this evening and tonight and fingers crossed tomorrow. Already got a few inches. With drifting in places! Its -4 here!!
  2. Where in west yorks are you. In kirklees area nothing much going on!
  3. @Steve Murr nice to hear your snow totals. What do you think about that big organised area of snow on that link in the quote text, developing in the north sea. Is yorkshire the sweet spot would you imagine?
  4. Where will the sweet spots be. Kirklees not been half as good as anticupated so far and usually fairs up on high ground e.g huddersfield etc
  5. West yorks in firing line for some heavy stuff. Look at the radar!
  6. Im near cleckheaton/ dewsbury. Just missed those 2 big heavy showers. Was sandwiched inbetween. One went off to wakefield/barnsley and other was north of us. Still plenty action to come. Looks to be perking up radar
  7. Radar is lighting up! Showers more organised too and im bands off east yorkshire coast!
  8. Showers growing as they move inland by looks of it too
  9. Radar looks to be picking up. Bigger showers starting to organize. Could this be it?! Also these showers are dropping quite a few cms. So thats not bad at all!
  10. Has anyone seen that stream of heavier snow on radar moving towards south and west of region
  11. Im driving over to barnsley today for a funeral this afternoon. Will be interesting getting back to west yorks
  12. Bloody hell radars come to life in north sea. Could get interesting next couple hours. Bit earlier than anticipated!
  13. Steve am i right in thinking if this ukmo chart was correct, we would continue to see snow showers and convections across the east of the country, even with the main band of snow to the south/south west?
  14. Does a humber stream run from humber to south yorks/west yorks in a typical easterly does anyone know?
  15. And moaning about tuesday snow and coming to conclusion that it doesnt look as promising is ridiculous, especially when we will see convective snow tuesday afternoon and rest of week. So tuesday will continue to be an interesting day in terms of snow after the front from the north sea has passed through. Its same people moaning before the event, but quick to make back yard analysises when the snow hits and how much snow is falling etc and how exciting it is... its so tedious... just bl**dy enjoy it! Winter finishes technically in a few weeks.
  16. What ever you think or happens, is there really any need to throw your toys out of pram like a school kid! Your totally misinterpreting the models and weather for this week. Analysing one run and nit picking. It makes me not want to come on here tbh and makes it so unreadable! Snow hasnt even arrived yet! Instead of moaning over and over again, at least try to listen to the more knowledgable people on here or attempt to back up your opinions! Its really grating on some people and myself.
  17. Im basically saying i take these amber warnings with a pinch of salt. Snow depths are going to vary all over even out of orange warning imo. Just keep an eye on the radar is best bet tbh
  18. There will be convection through tuesday as well. That disturbance will not be as smooth as that orange area is. It could so be the precipitation stretches a bit more west with pockets of heavy PPN.
  19. Tbh guys regardless of the amber warning, heavy pulses of snow in the surrounding areas of the orange warnimg cannot be ruled out. Its just more of a scribbled guide. If there was a map of yorkshire after the tuesday snow event indicating the amounts of snow fallen, you can guarntee it wont be as smooth as that orange warning area. And on top of that you have convection and streamers.
  20. gfs 6z mean, bit of an upgrade compared to recent output! Those thinking of a mild breakdown, might think differently, still plenty time to change as this won't ne nailed yet snow showers popping up again i would imagine as well. Im not sure how far north the low will go, but alot of the models seem to take the northern extent of the low towards central northern england. Could be plenty snow for northern england from this.
  21. I think tuesdays event will be a nowcast situation! I dont think we will really no who will get the most snow etc till it happens. In these set ups, frontal systems tend to chop and chase. Regardless what happens, convective snow show will feed off the north sea in the afternoon, so i dont understand all the fuss! The weather apps are crap, they dont give any accuracy on the weather at best of times and always change. I remember the first snowfall in december and how they changed hourly up to the event! Just calm down. The forecasters and apps wont forecast every area correct and its just a rough guide. They cant pin point exact time or how much precipitation for everyones back yard!!
  22. Jesus just been outside. Isnt that easterly breeze so bitter. Cnt even feel my fingers. Feels more like -8 no exageration!! Is that just me?!
