What a morning. I think this has satisfied my snow fix for the next decade. Here is some pics for all us snow staved NW'ers. Hopefully tonight we all get in on the action.

Not far from being cut off in bowness. Epic snowfall over the past 3 hours.

Definitely started getting noticeably gusty here after a relatively subdued morning. A few showers rattled through earlier but bright sunshine currently.

Certainly looks a tad windy for our region tomorrow! Anyone using the M6 heading north may have an eventful journey, one to avoid if you can I'd say.

For the first time in about 45mins the rain has eased. Rumblings only in the distance now... That was absolutely epic. Must be some huge 1 day rain totals chalked up round here after that.

Been snowing here for around 20 mins. Very light, nothing settling really... Thin slushy deposits on cars. Nice to look at persistent light snow falling though.

This isn't even remotely marginal here either, thought it could end up being sleety today but not one bit at the moment.

Not sure what to make of that MetO update other than they appear to be keeping all bases covered such as to not to be left with egg on their faces. Still all to play for I think, we're all still in the raffle!

There always seems to be a last minute drama taking a snow event away from the NW or watering it down. You couldn't make it up. Too north, too south, snow shield, precipitation shadow..
