  1. Just had a look at the Met office's latest tweet, absolute dogs dinner this low for Thursday. Glad I'm not responsible for forecasting
  2. Purley from IMBY perspective jury still out on anything substantial Thursday. The update still has that tick in the Matrix in the the unlikely box and the dreaded "turning back to rain" line has made an appearance! If that tick moves after tomorrow's update I MAY be slightly on board. Anyone with even modest elevation in our region should hit the jackpot though looking at the latest stuff from this morning.
  3. We are defo on with a shout for a direct hit on Thursday but it's a long shot for low level disruptive snow IMO. Seen many of this type of set up before fail to deliver. Also the warning is at the 'unlikely' end of the spectrum. But if it came off it would be a thing of beauty!
  4. Another direct hit from heavy snow shower here. In total about 5cm laying now. Excellent
  5. Think that could be it for here, skies cleared, all the action setting up way south or north. Lucky to get hit by the 2 beefy showers which passed through I suppose.
  6. Nothing more than a light dusting overnight here, must have cleared up though as all frozen solid. Nice to look at I suppose. Certainly beats the usual conveyor belt of mild, damp & drizzly dross we usually get served up.
  7. Despite that last snow shower giving a covering, it's melted rapidly. Also Irish sea seems to have died on its ar** within the last hour or so. Doesn't bode well as it stands.
  8. Light snow here now. Looks like a rogue shower... Actually turned moderate
  9. I cant tell you how good it is to not be hearing the dreaded phrase "wrong side of marginal" from our friends out in the west of the region !!! Happy days
  10. Wow, dew point here dropped rapidly from when I last checked late this morning! Crystal clear skies atm.. stunning day.
  11. Just put the bins out... Absolutely Baltic, crystal clear skies and hardly a breath of wind. How low will it go is the question! We got -6 last week but I'll be surprised if we don't get lower than that here tonight.
  12. -6 , looking out pretty much every surface has an icy sheen to it. Not seen that for a long time.. definitely appears to have been a much more severe frost than last night.
  13. Well, a short lived snow flurry here in sale about 10 mins ago. Settled on all surfaces unsurprisingly. Fingers crossed for another slightly heavier burst later on this eve/early hours!
  14. Well, thoroughly damp & miserable out isn't it! Puddles really starting to build up on main routes. May head to the Mersey tomorrow am for a butchers... Could be the highest its been running for a while if this deluge continues all evening.
