  1. I think 21c 70f was because of the first time it happened in feb 2019 and winter as a whole and as such seems to be the new benchmark when spring comes around. A similar thing would be perhaps 50f or 12c in autumn? Edit sorry 50f is 10c
  2. Usually happens here sometime in November, very rare for it to happen in October. I think it might have just scraped below 10c at the end of October 2012.
  3. 1mph from a cat 1, I'm sure something similar will occur again soon!
  4. I wasn't actually alive to witness it, but stories from older people who were all say it was horrific with no other wind event coming anywhere near the intensity levels of this one, some people around here still believe it was actually a hurricane.
  5. Shoreham had a gust of 117mph with 73mph sustained winds, I think the peak hit here directly.
  6. I love a bit of wild autumn wind and rain, there's something soothing about being Indoors with a hot cup of tea while wind and rain batter against the window.
  7. Does anyone know why storms only seem to strike the south coast at night? I know it's to do with Framnce daytime heated storms drifting north, but why is it so difficult to get a storm during daylight hours, it seems a rare event, I only seem to remember storms when it's dark.
  8. Decent little storm this, can't wait for it to get closer!
  9. 27c already, shame I'm stuck at work until midnight.
  10. I love summer warmth, but I'm actually looking forward to autumn and the Atlantic steam train. Down here we get a lot of blustery thunderstorms aNd torrential downpours off the warm channel when low pressures come in from the west in autumn, plus a few windstorms!
  11. Lovely sunny morning yet again but with humidity creeping up, should reach around 24-25c here, probably for the last time this year?
  12. Perfect autumn day, high teens/low 20s and sunny all day, humidity gone too.
  13. I always class the first autumnal morning as one that's hits single figures here, won't be for a while yet. First air frost resembles winter to me.
  14. Just had a very short sharp convective shower but nothing is on the radar, it was quite heavy aswell.
  15. Much fresher feeling today currently at 19c with dewpoint and humidity much lower than yesterday, full cloud cover all day too.
  16. Dewpoint still nudging 19c a very muggy afternoon, cant wait for the front to pass through so the flat can cool down!
  17. My best storm last year was in august, but yes we usually do good from September through to November.
  18. Yep, it is positively steamy out there once that sun breaks through, is this our last chance saloon?
  19. Dewpoints are lower than yesterday here, they were around 19-20c yesterday, only 15-16c at the moment.
  20. Ti's much cooler today on the coast and more of a breeze and more cloud, humidity seems to have dropped a bit too.
  21. Does anyone know why Lakenheath airbase always records insanely high dewpoints, surely can't be 27c ?
