What a difference a day makes when you add in sunshine at this time of year. Grey and cool yesterday with a max of 10c, today max of 19c thanks to plenty of hazy sunshine. Steady SW wind. First sightings of swallows and house martins on Monday, nought seen since!

Lovely day at Stonehaven with very hazy sunshine, 18c, calm conditions and Harr lurking ever so close offshore... Gorgeous day with unbroken sunshine until late afternoon when some patchy cloud arrived from the east, thick enough for a few spots of rain this evening. Max of 16c, mainly light winds. No sign of those harbingers of summer yet, aka Swifts/House Martins/Swallows. For here at least, definitely showing up later than last year.

View lovely this morning... Calm, fog galore and some outbreaks of light rain. Double digit temperature though, who hoo ... (10c).

Atrocious day up here in the NE with steady cold rain from mid-morning to early evening, max of 7c and a very noticeable windchill. Not much warmer yesterday evening, but with the sunshine felt a whole lot better - especially when you meet these cheery souls when you are out for a walk...

Cool (currently 7c) and very showery - impressive hail one just now has whitened the grass... As with previous days, lovely and warm feeling when the sun comes out but thoroughly baltic in the shade. Gentle variable breeze.

Showery morning with a definite hint of sleet first thing, nor surprising as 1c at that time; dry and reasonably sunny from lunchtime onwards. Max of 9c today, nice and warm in the sunshine, frigid in the shade. Some gorgeous cloud formations mid-afternoon... Suie viewpoint lovely as ever this evening (looking north/northeast).

Cloudy morning, mainly sunny afternoon which combined with light winds felt very nice even though max today was 10.5c. Showers of rain this evening and 5c, Met sticking to their guns all day that these showers will turn sleety around dawn. If it wasn't the fact that its useable light outside until 21:30 now, you'd think it was still mid March...

Meanwhile over in the NE it feels like Winter again thanks to a strong northerly wind pegging temperatures to 7.5c whilst accompanied by a few light rain showers and the briefest of sunny intervals. Back lawn still barely growing and thus has still to get the first cut of the year, and its May a week tomorrow!

Wet during the day with the sun finally making an appearance at teatime. Light winds and max of 9c. Showers thereafter, but mixed with a low sun some stunning rainbows as a result (taken in Alford)... Farmers now starting to plough fields in earnest, normally a job completed well before now - a testament to what seems like incessant wet weather since last autumn.

Sunny morning, mainly cloudy afternoon ending with some very beefy hail showers around teatime - remains still evident on the lawn 2 hours later. That fact emphasising that its not warm out there, max today of 7c and currently 1.9c with a bone-chilling steady NW wind. Quite a wintery looking sky this evening, got to love being able to walk the dog at 9pm in some semblance of daylight. Aurora active this evening, will see if skies are clear later to allow you to actually see anything.

Plenty of sunshine but very stormy SW winds blowing over the bins and trying to launch the trampoline (just as well the ground anchors are there). 14c currently so cooler than yesterday, looks like shower of rain over to the west.

Finally a day worthy of spring, and the warmest here so far this year with a max of 17c. Sunshine, at best, hazy during the afternoon but feeling very pleasant indeed. Clearing a bit this evening with a lovely sunset - first evening you could walk around in a fleece rather than the triple layer winter garb. First bats of the year out as well, nature finally shaking off its winter torpor.

It really is a naff spring so far... 6c, strong NW wind, rain and yet more rain.

Stormy SW winds have not let up since yesterday, but they are drying up the ground at speed. 12c currently, though not feeling like that in the wind. Some decent sunny spells and feeling lovely in the greenhouse (so lucky to have that).

Temperature up to 10c, overcast but dry. Really gusty winds though, one pane polycarbonate already popped out of cold frame - had no issues with that over the winter so go figure! PS - untold riches await whomever comes up with good quality peat-free compost, it's dire the stuff bought the last two years and that's spanning the range from Lidl to levington. 1st world problems...

Grim repeat of yesterday's deluge, just even cooler as it's sitting at 4.8c currently. Groundhog Day in many ways as it's feels like February!

Get feeling the east is the new west weatherwise, but without the relative mildness. Incessant rain, intensity waxing and waining with majority of it moderate. Cold at 6c with a brisk easterly wind. Kids now determined to emigrate. Lawn is looking a tad sad..

Northernlights Legally that sounds crazy, so who is then held liable if there is an accident/damage related to a pothole infilled by a non-qualified (road construction) person?? This country gets madder by the day. As for weather, back to Aberdeenshire Permagloom™ with occasional outbreaks of drizzle in calm conditions. Cool at 7c and surprisingly had very thick fog overnight. Edit - hmm, that post time says after 12pm but just realised it is 1st April.... Mind you Aberdeenshire council wants everyone to grit their own pavements so repairing potholes wouldn't surprise me!

Battle between harr and sunshine in St Andrews today, with the former starting to win by mid-afternoon. Good to see the town hoaching with people, though did feel a bit out of place not having the waxed jacket and range rover.... Car recorded max of 12c, light winds and feeling very pleasant indeed in the sunshine.

Cloudy morning but decent afternoon with some decent sunny spells, max of 12c with light winds. Ground conditions utterly sodden though, the constant squelch heard when walking over the grass around Castle Fraser was a first for this time of year. Legacy of yesterdays deluge.

Dreadful day so far though radar hints of a clearance coming in from the SE. Steady heavy rain/sleet mix blown in on a fresh SE wind - bitterly cold feeling when you are out, current temp 3.5c.
