Will we be getting anything on the coast ? Don't really want to get caught out in some torrential rain on my run but the Netweather forecast says just cloud

Seems like another round coming over with torrential rain

3 or 4 flashes of lightning to the south, not frequent enough to be window watching it, shame thought with that disgusting heat earlier it would have given a better display but can't complain any thunder & lightning is better than none

First bit of lightning overhead

Temp outside is much nicer now! Can also hear the rumblings of thunder in the distance

Things exploding over Wrexham/Whitchurch now. That will be good for Merseyside and the Wirral but need stuff further east for Gtr Manchester.
Looks too south for Wirral and more on track to hit Flintshire ?

The heat today is very different than we've had the past month, it feels arid and not pleasant, hopefully produces some storms today

Some rumbles around lunch time here, but soon fizzled out, miserable cloudy day

I think it was a great event for the region with accumulation, just a shame it's so late in winter that it's not able to stick around for a couple of days, maybe if cloud were to persist it might be around longer but the sun is too hot now really for snow

Had a decent covering this morning but it's mostly all melted now bar the odd patch in the shade

Would it be frowned upon to be disappointed with this snow ? We've probably had more snow fall today than we've had the last 10 years combined, yet it hasn't settled and has just formed puddles instead, it started to look like it was going to start settling at least on the grass an hour ago when the flakes were getting larger but then it slowed down so back to melting on landing
I wonder if it manages to keep snowing overnight when temps get abit lower it will be able to settle as snow and not melt ?

Still snowing here a shame it's not sticking as there would be a nice covering

Just started snowing here now, very small dandruffy type snow

Radar shows light precip but there's nothing here, it's not even all that cold or at least it doesn't feel cold even though it is, it's weird

Not much to say but a nice sunny day today on the coast

The shower in Southport is falling as snow the pier webcam which is encouraging at sea level but yes they need to be a bit more robust to get much out of them. Edit: and also survive the perilous journey inland
It was Graupel, quite a lot of it though so had a little white out

Are these streamers going to pick up intensity or should we count ourselves lucky for what we're getting ?

Some moderate snow just now with fairly large chunks

I remember 96 well started off with heavy rain and once evaporative cooling took over we had heavy snow for around 30 hours dumping 12 to 14 inches never seen so much snow
Back in the days when schools made you make the effort to get to school only to be told it's a snow day and to go home

Sounds like it's another Marginal nowcast situation for getting any decent snow, this cold spell isn't even cold if you can call it that
