  1. I’m currently ‘between jobs’ so I’m truly excited about the next three days of and relatively warm temps. Decent chance to get on the bike and squeeze some miles in. Snow and cold in April is just wrong so I’m glad that’s getting pushed back.
  2. There should be some sort of countdown on here until the pubs open outdoors, and what the models are saying for the big day on April 12th!
  3. Yeah a fair bit, maybe a couple of centimetres here in Lincoln this evening. The radar looks promising for a bit more..
  4. Just popped in from the Yorks/Lincs thread to say how on earth has the WEST Midlands done much better from an Easterly than Lincs?!
  5. Beast From the East? More like Least From the East... I can’t believe how badly our part of Lincs, and the region in general has done out of this set-up. Barely a flake overnight. Luck of the draw I suppose.
  6. Sun out guns out here currently. Could be April. I’ve never known a radar look so misleading because from that you’d think it’d have snowing all day. Looking forward to some better action later on.
  7. According to my weather station(otherwise know as the garden table) we have about an inch here in amber Lincoln. Nothing spectacular as of yet, heavier bursts that don’t last long. Hoping it’s going to up it’s game as the day goes on. My beer order has arrived safely so it can now crack on.
  8. It’s the wind that is far more apparent than any snow atm. To be fair if the snow does come it will be blizzardy. If blizzardy is a word.
  9. I’ve read a few times that the radar underestimates PPN in situations like this one. Today has been the opposite, the radar’s looked decent but in real life very little. Tonight is one of those times when you prayed the snow came to get a day off school. ??
  10. Looking at the radar, we’ve got hours more PP coming from the south. Surely some snow out of that?
  11. Still chucking it down here. Heavy snow now forecast for Monday, but no one seems to have the faintest idea about what’s going to happen between now and then. Got a big Sunday out at the dentist tomorrow so I’ll be gutted if that’s disrupted.
  12. Some of the usernames might as well be Michael Caine, Del Boy, Ronnie Kray and the Pearly King. At least we’d know the ones to ignore.
  13. What a night that was. When I got up about 5ish I looked out the window and I thought the van I used to use for work had been nicked! Could hardly see it and it felt like the house had sunk by about a foot. No work that day. I hope for something similar this time around, but looking at the mod thread, some of the early signs at least for my part of Lincs aren’t good. I’m hoping the showers pick up fairly quickly on Sunday.
  14. Yeah but given all the talk of a foot of snow I wasn’t expecting fewer snow symbols than yesterday!
  15. Oooh, looks like the main action is likely to dive south of here on Saturday evening, but no doubt we’ll be in the firing line for some decent showers on Sunday. On a separate note, the BBC app is currently showing a total of 2 snowflakes for Lincoln between Sunday and Wednesday, while my homies in Nottingham are on 3! More updates as they come in.
  16. As a long time lurker I can’t ever remember a UK cold spell being initially forecast to last longer than 5-6 days. The models always seem keen to sweep them away, but they don’t always turn out to be right. Apologies for the OT comment.
  17. The only shame about the upcoming spell is that the pubs are shut. Had two really good sessions in 2010 and 2018 when no one could get to work for a couple of days! Here’s to 2021-22!
  18. Great pub run. Is there much evidence that the pub run isn’t just nice colours on a chart?
  19. It’s been mildly(geddit?) uplifting to see the mild blip later this week becoming blippier and blippier on the weather apps. A reverse of normal winters. We’ve been sadly starved of snow here in mid Lincolnshire so I hope we’re in with a chance this weekend.
