    The northern blocking keeps appearing so that's a positive. Plenty of time for the other jigsaw pieces to fall into place. If it's still showing high pressure to our south in November/December then I'll worry. Well....not worry because there's nothing I can do about it so I'll just be peed off

    Tomorrow is the first post 6am sunset for me but have to wait until next Thursday before sunset is before 8pm.

    I wouldn't take this forecast as gospel. It does say that the seasonal models are not 100% in agreement. Also depends how strong el niño actually gets and the forecast doesn't take the QBO into account which should be in it's easterly phase. Also, if we get an SSW then we don't know what the fall out from that would be.

    Thanks. Wasn't sure if there was a new one every year or just continued from previous years but I know we're coming up to the end of the melt season (if memory serves).

    Thanks for taking the time to produce this. It does seem to lend some credence to the theory. Although everything seems to be up in the air recently with a warming climate generally speaking and the atmosphere seemingly not acting in a manner expected in conjunction with the ENSO base state.

    I said a good sign, not guaranteed. In the same way that not every EQBO winter is cold.

    Me too! Apparently a warmer than average October is also a good sign for a cold winter......do we can have summer I October!

    Don't want a warm September. It's a tenuous link but September's that are well above average seem to be followed by mild winters....

    Interesting that on the previous update in July the blocking was there on the Peitao Peng model but the August update the blocking signal has strengthened. I'm not holding my breath but if it's showing the same in September and again in October I might start to get a little bit excited.

    I watched Gav's weather video on Sunday and he was doing some long range stuff. He looks at the Peitao Peng model which seems to be going for lots of northern blocking this winter. I don't know much about it other than it is an analogue based forecast using SST's. Does anyone have any idea what it's verification stats are like. If memory serves, it did quite well for winter 21/22. Can't remember what it was predicting last winter...

    If this stuff is confirmed to be true and we are being engaged by a non-human intelligence then what could be more important to humanity? It would be the greatest revelation ever. Free (or very cheap) clean energy for a start... Plus the ridicule factor, lack of places to report sightings outside of MUFON in the US...

    They never said "it was aliens". They stated that what they encountered was outside the envelope of the current US inventory or, in their opinion, of any other world military. These people are highly trained observers and the contacts were visual (pilots own eyes), infrared camera mounted on the planes and radar on both plane and ship.

    The testimonies given yesterday were from well trained military operatives. FA18 pilots David Fravor and Ryan Graves (both US Navy).

    Reported UFO sightings. It doesn't mean that all ufo sightings are mostly exclusive to the USA/UK etc. Probably the reason why America has the highest concentration is because they have groups such as MUFON where people can report sightings.
