Snowing over the local hills, photo looking onto Cairn William, 450 mts asl, North facing side.Snowline seems to be around the 300 meter mark. Temperature currently 1.5c on the car display. Roads are very wet, could be tricky tomorrow.
Second photo shows current conditions over at the Lecht.
Home early today to get a replacement windscreen and the winter alloys/tyres fitted. Heavy snow forecast around 3pm, the Autoglass fitter won't be best pleased.

At least five ice days in a row starting Wednesday for Aviemore, if the forecast holds.

Would you rather :
A) Have a week of deep snow and freezing fog, with only 2 days of sunshine. Temepratures hovering between -2c and 0c
B) No snow, but a week of temperatures reaching 4-7c by day, and below -5c by night, with 5 days of wall-to-wall susnhine, and two days of freezing fog allowing ice daysI'd go for B. I've seen enough snow to last a lifetime.

Having problems loading pages today. Site is running super slow.

A dry, cloudy, and cold start to the day, car display currently showing -1.5c.
The latest Met Office daily forecast is worth checking out for next week. A 12 hour period of snow Thursday evening into Friday morning around these parts.
On the way to the shops, I noticed a council gritter fueling at the local Shell station. As I drew alongside, the gritter had It's snow blade fitted. Perhaps a good omen.....

A high ground affair just as their latest update suggests…..
Sounds about right, where precipitation does fall, for the vast majority it will be rain. All subject to change of course.

Thursday 30 Nov - Saturday 9 Dec
Outbreaks of rain and some hill snow are likely to spread across parts of England and Wales during Thursday. This could be heavy and prolonged in places, before it begins to fade and clear away again to the south during Friday. Further north, a mixture of sunny spells and wintry showers on Thursday and Friday, the showers most frequent near coasts. Over the weekend and into the following week, cold conditions and northerly winds are expected across the bulk of the UK. Showers will develop, these a mixture of rain, sleet and, at times, snow, with the most frequent showers across coastal districts in the north and east. Some inland areas, especially in the south, could be mainly dry and bright.

Suspect this won't be far off the mark.

I got seduced by the name of a tyre... Viking Contact 7! These are about to go on the Yeti. I hope they live up to the hype and that conditions justify the outlay and effort!
Wintrac 4 extreme, shipped from Germany, £200 cheaper than the best price I could find in the UK. How does that work
Anyway, hopefully get a chance to try them out soon.

The latest Met Office LRF for 28th Nov to 8th Dec is worth a read. Think it's time to stick the winter tyres on.

Thats depressing as Scottish Ski resorts need a good season or can see a few of them shutting up shop.
If it wasn't for artificial snow making, I suspect a couple would have stopped offering snow sports.
