No mention from Exeter and no backing from ec46 for anything other than Atlantic muck Nick.
I'll keep an eye on today's update and of course ec46 later but I'm extremely sceptical at this point.
I'm also Sceptical

Both ECM and GFS forecasts have our area largely between 0C and 8C as far out as the forecast currently goes. Wife's new car got a full set of all season fitted this week as we both tend to run those all year round now.
Currently on the A90 heading south to visit oldest son in Hexham for the weekend. Lovely day, sunny with very little cloud around. 9Cjust north of Brechin.
Not much in the Met Office daily forecast that warrants sticking on the winters just yet. Mind you, theses daily forecasts have been hit or miss for a while.

Daylights starting to crack and the hard surfaces around the house are much drier than last night.
Wind has died down and it's dry. Dodged a bullet around here!

Internet and 4g data knocked out for a bit. The wind has definitely picked up while the rain has eased off. Bit brighter now than earlier on.

Fortunately Cairn William and the Pitfichie hills are taking the brunt of the weather. Feels like a get out of jail card

^^ Casually flipping through my book of "won't be into work today" excuses.
Despite waving the Met Office warnings under some jobsworth nose, he assured me "we'll all be outside tomorrow "
Aye right

0c again this morning. Started garaging the car overnight to avoid the ordeal of having to scrape ice.

The milder the better as far as I'm concerned due to the high energy costs.
Definitely a benefit of a mild winter.

I'll go with my usual guess. Above average temperature for winter 23/24.

Yesterday's update from the Met - Standard fare for late November.
Thursday 23 Nov - Saturday 2 Dec
The early part of this period is likely to see a north-south split in weather conditions, with southern parts of the UK drier than of late with some sunny spells, while northern areas, particularly western Scotland, see more in the way of cloud, rain and wind. Within this overall pattern, there may well be incursions of colder air at times, especially across north and northeast UK, with wintry showers and overnight frost. It's uncertain just when such cold spells will occur and how extensive they will be, and it may be that this happens more than once with periods of milder, wetter weather in between. Towards the second weekend, it's most likely to become more generally changeable, with a lower chance of more settled conditions persisting across the south.
