  1. I'm struggling to remember the last time I boarded in Scotland pre-Christmas.
  2. Met office forecast looks grim. 9 hours of heavy rain tonight into tomorrow coupled with strong winds. That will shred the snowpack quickly.
  3. Yup, makes you wonder what the MAD thread see.
  4. Winter 2009/10 up these parts was a nightmare, snowploughs were still in use during the first week of May 2010. Hopefully we never see it's like again.
  5. That's disappointing given Glenshee had four runs open yesterday, I was planning a snowboarding trip up there tomorrow. The ski resorts desperately need a good season.
  6. Wind was pretty rowdy at midnight, rain lashing off the windows kept me awake. A much milder start of late at 7C, yesterday kicked off with -4C. Further heavy rain expected tonight which could lead to further snowfall for the ski resorts. Starting to look good up there! Glenshee yesterday:
  7. Getting rather blowy outside, forecast is for 50mph gusts and heavy rain around midnight. Yellow warnings for rain for parts of eastern Scotland tomorrow and Friday.
  8. The coldest start in a while. -4C, dry and sunny. Later on this evening the return of the rain and wind. Milder of late with temperature around 6C. Early next week looks colder and dry.
  9. Temperature has dropped quickly tonight, currently -3C. Roads gritted but still skitty in places and that's a 4WD with winter alloys/tyres.
  10. I'd need to offload my current property to free up 500k towards the self build. Land isn't cheap......
  11. Couple of options, one of which is another self build project local.
  12. A cold, damp and cloudy day. Spent most of the afternoon at war with estate agents over their ludicrous commission fee scam.
  13. I was rather enjoying watching the snowfall here. As you noted, large flakes as well. Now its turned to heavy rain at 1C. We cant catch a break with winter so far.
  14. Snow started here an hour ago, slight dusting around the house. The hills are looking much whiter than they did this morning.
  15. Its rapidly turning into a cracking winter day. Looks like the valley hills to the west have caught some overnight snow. View from the garden, looking west. During the winter of 2009/10, the garden fence, 1.7 meters, was completely buried under snow.
  16. This has become the typical scene for winters in the NE of Scotland.
  17. A crisp winter day, fog starting to lift. Not a bad view to wake up to everyday.
  18. It's like a skating rink outside. Temperatures below freezing with thick fog.
  19. Very wet and mild Or Wet and very mild. Or Very wet and very mild.
  20. The MAD thread appears to have entered a period of state mourning.
  21. Aye, looking good for cold and dry conditions until midweek. Thurs - Sat looks cloudy and wet, possibly very wet. The week after? Who knows.
  22. Dry, cloudy and cold. Overnight snow for the local hills. -2C
  23. Cloudy and cold start 0C. Snow overnight for the local hills - 300m asl.
