    Can people stop mentioning about BBC.. Time will tell what happens but we need to see consistency and agreement in place from models.. relying on a BBC forecast or Met O forecast at this stage is pointless.

    No of course not.. Agreed.. GFS seems to be the poorest, whilst ICON does look the better sceniro with UKMO more middle ground.. Although GEM does follow GFS.. I guess we will find out whose got this one in the bag, although.. Wasn't it ICON that had the better handle on the christmas flop?

    Hope everyone had a good xmas and will have a good new year.. Latest thoughts on this "northerly" if that's what you want to call it! from Matt Hugo! "The award to the most pathetic northerly goes to this...no wonder mind given the 'beaties' to the NE and over E Canada. Can now throw the towel in on the N'ly early next week and move on to the potential for a colder W or NW'ly later next week"

    Correct me if I am wrong.. But wasn't the March 2013 situation similar to what we are seeing and it took models to get down to 72hrs to agree and flipped to a colder outlook? I mean.. If models can flip to model this quick, whose saying they won't do the same for a colder outlook? I won't be throwing the towel in until tomorrows 12z for this chase.. But it does show you, it doesn't matter what anyone wants or if they agree.. Weather will do what it wants. All a learning experience.

    It’s a hell of a lot better than 00z was & a massive back track - not much needed to be identical to GFS.. if GFS keeps consistent. Expect 00z ECM to make a full backtrack and be in line with GFS.
