March is looking cold at the moment so we have a glimmer of hope for coldies but for now we have to watch this possible record breaking warmth!

March is looking quite cold actually so we’ve got some hope!

This website’s forecast isn’t even going for the record breaker! It is showing 15 on Friday before backing down to about 10-11C before going into single digits by the start of March

If you have been looking at ecm there was a malfunction because this is clearly impossible in February so we will need to see with the next run later today to verify these apocalyptic Synoptics! I truly hope these aren’t actually real because gfs is not predicting this monstrosity next Friday

Is this ecm? If it is there was apparently a malfunction that caused this summer like chart as it is impossible for February so we need to wait until the next run this evening for more clarity so don’t get your shorts and suncream out yet!

Well someone said that ecm had a malfunction at +240 and went wild with the temperatures as it looks like a summer synoptic to a late winter one and is simply impossible for late February so we will have to wait until the evening to see if this is kept consistent or if this morning’s one was just a blip. Gfs has uppers in the mid single figures for much of next week up to Friday which is the day where it is supposed to be the warmest so I have no idea what is going on!

Just as it’s so exceptional and unusual! I’m not scared like I’m going to die but just at how incredible Mother Nature is! Last year it was exceptional cold, this year it is exceptional warmth at exactly the same time of the year!

Well apparently these synoptic charts are impossible for late winter so... I hope they get downgraded or that this was actually a malfunction because gfs doesn’t go so wild like ecm on some of the days next week. Have to wait until this evening to verify and hopefully it won’t be so exceptional because, to be honest I’m a little scared here at the values I’m seeing

I hope it’s not actually reality otherwise the apocalypse is nigh.

Weather models are getting way too excited about this spring spell!

Ah ok, got a bit confused then. Was wondering why I could somehow go beyond the time frame of everyone else, it was because I wasn’t. Still not looking as record breaking as it did yesterday though

Take a look at this then, Monday 25th feb 12:00 gfs 6z:

I look at wxcharts, windy.com, weather outlook and some others. I look at many different ones to see if they have a correlation and they do show the same as each other with the models so I know they are reliable

Yeah, but the uppers don’t actually reflect the surface temperatures strangely at the moment, ecm is showing uppers of +14-15C but down on the ground they are only 9-10C now that is a bit odd and I don’t see that very often in February

Eh? No this is out to +204. I also mentioned that the ecm is showing nothing record breaking, the uppers are pretty impressive but the surface temperatures are lower in the same time frame. Monday 25th was forecast to be the peak of the warmth but it is looking less mild for that day now

Not sure about you but personally I’m not seeing any particularly record breaking temps at all. Just very green colours indicating 10-11C nothing exceptional at all. This is from the gfs 6z today showing 25th of feb. ECM showing a bit more in the way of milder weather with temperatures nudging into the low teens so it’s not looking like a record breaker and there are no southerlies they are more south westerlies to westerlies now before turning to easterlies as the high moves north into the North Sea and then to the west of the uk

Now that would be exceptional! Very strange it would be to see thunderstorms from warmth in February! As much as I like thunderstorms, it is the wrong time of the year for them! I want snow!

Well compare that to what we are in for next weekend it will feel like Siberia in comparison! That would be a 15C+ drop in temperatures for some areas!

Well, well, well, what have we got here? A flake of snow i see for the 4th of March! (Long way off still)

If there is nothing I hate more it’s when the seasons don’t feel like the seasons they are! It’s winter not summer! Why on earth are we possibly going to near 20C!? This poxy southwesterly needs to go away, I hate it mild in the winter! Can that high just get a kick up where the sun don’t shine up into Scandinavia please? Surely there is payback from winter at some point, it can’t let us get off this lightly! The uk doesn’t deserve this mild weather at all, it deserves cold

This is so frustrating and hurting my head! Two high pressures now apparently going to build next week. One over Scandinavia/Northern Europe and one over southern France! If that one to our south builds then it cuts of the easterlies and leaves us in a void of boredom! We can’t win! The one time we get a Scandi high we get an Azores high at the same time, too many highs!

Remember that when this happened in 1998 winter came in April! We could be in for a late cold spell at this rate, just trying to remain optimistic to see at least one more flake of snow!
