  1. About 16.8°C according to my backup analogue thermometer in the lounge. My digital station is dead and a new one on order.
  2. Weird, just discovered the heating was on and turned it off. The electrician who was here earlier must have put in on.
  3. In Buxton we had a high of -5°C on 1st March 2018, after several ice days and strong winds. The altitude makes it colder than most places thanks to being at 1000ft high. I remember pee in the toilet producing steam it was so cold.
  4. Great question - both extremes for me are rather odd. Lowest - 1°C, in the bathroom of an old, draughty unheated attic apartment in Buxton, Derbyshire in March 2018 (BftE). Yes the bath froze up and was unusable. Only heating was an electric space heater in the main room. Highest - 33°C in the kitchen of the same apartment - in December 2017. I had a horrible old electric cooker in the small kitchen, one evening a loose knob on the front of it got knocked inadvertently, and it switched on over night, heating up the whole kitchen. I walked in late next morning to a wall of heat in the room, and the smell and sight of a nearby plastic bag beginning to melt and smoulder. It was my fault for not turning the cooker off at the wall, given it had cranky loose knobs on the front of it that could be easily knocked on.
  5. 12:53PM 17.0°C, 59% humidity in the lounge. This is perfectly fine. Not cold at all unless I was a lazy blighter just sitting there all day.
  6. I'm waiting til October 1st to see how my standing charge/unit prices will change before using the heating. If it isn't as bad as all that then I'll use it as normal (fairly conservatively) to keep temperatures about 18 degrees in the day.
  7. 19.3°C with 70% humidity in my lounge.
  8. 17.9°C, 69% humidity in lounge. Getting hot
  9. Yeah, thankfully it's going up a bit now, up to 16.4°C
  10. 16.3°C, 69% humidity in the lounge.
  11. I'm on the train back up to Sheffield and reaching Leicester out of London the cloud is getting much darker, lower and thicker.
  12. I'm staying with my dad who's an old postwar boomer and he says the heating goes on when the indoor temp gets down to 5°C.
  13. I'm in Margate at the moment with its famous ever present howling sea winds. Coat and hat needed for me whereas the same temps in Sheffield feel much warmer.
  14. I'm travelling on a train to the SE today and it's very rainy down here, after leaving a sunny Sheffield.
  15. It was interesting from a statistical point of view with that bizarre though shortlived heatwave in July. Lacking on the convection side though early September made up for it a bit.
  16. It went down to 19.6°C in the lounge today.
  17. I remember a crap week in early June and a very convective interesting July and August was OK but a bit rainy.
  18. 21°C and 71% humidity in the lounge...
  19. Another storm that was approaching gone DOA. Very disappointed. What is killing them off here? They've been in every direction but here. Grrrrr
  20. The sound of your balls rolling along was probably similar to thunder.
