do you think there will be a distance measurement tool added?

I would imagine you would be using SEPA rain guages for Scotland?. By the way its a nice couple features which have been added.
-
so yes i loved it when ukv came out but its been since December since anything was added or significantly changed?

The smoothing option looks good but the edges of the precip are jagged, can this be fixed? On other software where you write your colour tables this is usually fixed by putting 1 extra line of code in taking the image down zero or whatever reading it might stop at to reduce any radar noise.
yes if that could be sorted it would make it much nicer.

Was hell of a night here not far from Perth, luckily we didn't get as much rain as Perth and other places in Fife. was lightning between 9pm and 7am almost non stop here, good 4-5 flashes per minute on average.
Rain totals from what i have seen in the last 24 hours:
Perth: 90-110mm
Lochgelly : 120mm
Kinross: 100mm
Where i am: 60mm
Edinburgh: 80-130mm
Check out my twitter for the shots of lightning i captured.- 5

I am somewhat doubtful about that, its still quite chilly here in the Birmingham area with a good amount of cloud cover still, I am wondering if we will get to the all important temp to trigger the storms.
If storms don't ignite in the Midlands then its likely storms will ignite across northern and central Wales, as well as the Lancashire area.

if the Midlands get into the low 30s then storms should ignite

Certainly seems to line-up well with the UKV, so as good a chance as any that you'll be correct.
Euro 4 very similar too!

@MAXcrazystorm thank you for the optimism for the SE corner but you really shouldn’t have...you can remind me of this comment if you’re on the money
There just looks like a few cells might move up through the channel overnight tonight , its generally a higher risk than elsewhere in the LOW risk area.

i do see the met office upgrading to an amber thunderstorm warning tomorrow across the W Midlands up to Lancaster to E Wales.- 1
V8 Radar

you see the colours on the map, that indicates rain getting picked up on Radar. The scale on the right shows the intensity on the rain getting picked up in mm/hr. In other words light rain is picked up by blues meaning like 0.5-1mm/hr which is light rainfall, often drizzle.
The greens and yellows suggest more moderate rainfall or 2-6mm/hr and this rain intensity is common in frontal rainfall.
The oranges and reds suggest heavy rainfall or like 8mm/hr+, these colours are more common in heavy showers.
the dark reds and whites suggest torrential rainfall with rain exceeding 20mm/hr which is very rare in frontal rain, but common in summertime downpours and Thunderstorms.
The purple is often indicated by hail or extreme rainfall. Rain rate over 150mm/hr.
And just to ask: Why on Earth do you get a radar subscription if you don't really know the idea behind what a rain radar is?
